:noway: yum! You look amazing! 10 pounds ago I had F's, pretty sure all 10 lbs came from my boobs and my elbows.... I am beyond jealous!

I have big feet! Can we share shoes?? Let's be besties! <goes and tells everyone how much your feet smell> Ya, I don't get along well with girls. I want to talk about a kick-*kitten* play my team made last night off of one of my punts. I don't really care how much their new dress cost.

Cobb images? This is why we're friends, cap'n.

ALTHOUGH... if you don't know it is gluten, see a doctor first please. Most testing for gluten intolerance and Celiac Disease rely on it's presence in your system. I had to undergo the work twice as a doctor took me off gluten before testing.

Been there. Canker sores suck! I also get severe stomach issues and neurological issues like blurred vision, migraines, and anxiety. Method isn't really the issue. It's mentally overcoming the desire for it. The biggest change is realizing that that bite of the oey goey cinabun just isn't worth the intense pain and…

I agree with this. I'm a 150 lb girl and I eat 1600-1800 and lose. That's the 'net' calories too. I use the spreadsheet from In Place of a Road Map to keep track over the course of the week and the month. Some days I can lift for an hour and follow it with a spin class and I'm just not hungry. I'll force a protein shake…

20-30% applied to TDEE in the article. Your BMR is what you'd need in a coma with no activity... don't drop 30 % below that!

QFT: that's exactly right. I do want to add that if your goal is more fitness related than pounds related (ie muscle definition and health vs losing 20) then exercise becomes more valuable than diet alone. You will lose weight at a deficit. This is a fact. However, should you be trying to increase your run pace or your…

Quoted so that everyone will see it a second time. You're right, and I'm guilty. At 153 I still try on every outfit in the closet hating my flabby gut... It starts with not body shaming ourselves. We need to be proud of accomplishments when we're trying to change things, not upset about what we haven't achieved yet.

I'm 5'9" and 152 lbs. I'm one of the lucky ones (sarcasm), every pound of fat goes right into my tummy. I was at 145 about a year ago and still my tummy wobbled. I however have developed visible muscle on my legs and arms. I think goal weight depends largely on frame size, and how you place it. Abdominal fat is…

Furthermore, subjective evidence such as competition-based suggestions do not qualify as general distinctions for what is "overweight". You could also say that the average female bodybuilder is 12-14% at competition form. This, while not incorrect, does not provide a standard of "healthy" for the general public.
-
Thank you!! 24% and under is considered healthy for women! at 5'9" and 152 lbs I have 23.9% bf. I may not be happy with my current shape but I am by no standard considered overweight! Check your sources please, this thread doesn't need any more open worm cans. In fact some sources suggest that BMI levels considered to be…

I have wanted to study this since I joined. Come on degree... Seriously though, maybe a week away? Or ease out of aspects of MFP you personally deem less necessary.

Try this one: 7 medium zucchini squash 4 cups chicken broth (stock) 4 laughing cow light triangles Boil Zucchini in the broth until soft Remove from heat Blend with standing hand blender until smooth and creamy Whisk in the cheese triangles while bringing to a simmer Season to taste: I add basil, black pepper, and just a…

The worst part of all of the "fake" allergies is that it hurts the credibility of those who actually have the allergies. Telling a server I am Celiac and being asked "Is it because you read Wheat Belly?" was infuriating.
-
As a celiac, I know that fending for yourself blows. I would cater to restrictions and allergies. Because most venues expect to anyway, there shouldn't be any added hassle. However, low carb/low fat people may not be my top priority next to allergy sufferers or vegetarians. I am in no way discriminating, but it's easier…

Well, that is probably the most scientific two cents to have ever gotten me out of my bra... and in record time I might add. Seriously though, that was an interesting read. Thank you.

I do the same! I don't want to.... but I'm already dressed so I should. 98% success rate lol

The numbers are fairly accurate in my opinion. The average person working at vigorous effort can burn about 10 calories a minute. It's about how hard you work, not necessarily how long or how far.

Well, this was a worthy click.... back to the kitties I go.

Thanks to Shock and Matt. This thread was very informative and your 13 week breakdown really helped. I understand the difference much better now. ETA: what was the overall bf% loss after 13 weeks?
-
That's terrifying! I couldn't eat that much in a day!

I was thinking in OP's case it may be easier to start with the bulk/cut cycle because she is fairly new to the concept. It may be beneficial to focus solely on strength and muscle gains (1 pound a week max weight gain) then try to cut down. You're the expert so correct me if I'm wrong but I certainly found it easier to…

I liked what was said in the earlier post... weigh ins could be conducted daily, but shown when participants are at the lowest weight of the week. I weigh daily so that I can monitor water fluctuations.

I've recently made my own. Mulder would be proud.

Or looking for acknowledgement that others have felt the same, and have overcome this feeling. Reassurance is always nice.

I see what you're saying. It kind of makes sense but dehydration isn't black and white. There are varying levels, which would explain how some weeks they lose 7 lbs and some weeks they lose 20 pounds. Having said that, wouldn't the editors aim for the most drastic possible results? We can't fully know but if a *week is…

Which is why I am suggesting a conversation with him as first and foremost. I was fortunate to have my partner's support when I expressed my concerns. My lack of libido issues stemmed from body image related depression which led to less effort put into taking care of my body. Poor eating binges, and laziness with grooming…
