I'm right there with you. From my lowest weight, I've put on 35 lbs. I'm back at it. It doesn't matter how many times you fall, what counts is how many times you stand up.

Congrats!!! Change things up. If you normally do mostly cardio, do a few sessions of weight training. Just hang in there!!

Loose Skin...bane of my existence. It depends on so many factors. Age, Genetics, Speed of Weightloss, Length of time beign overweight. BodyFat % The younger you are the better your chances you skin will recover. Good genes help. Slow weightloss helps. Overweight for a short period helps. I lost 140 lbs over two years(+).…

I like the Marble Jar idea! Very Cool! Like Lizzy said, make you goals small and manageable. Instead of a 100lbs to lose, its lose one pound this week * 100. Set specific rewards when you reach milestones My halfway point reward was new patio furniture. Don't beat yourself up if you miss a goal. Just become more determined.

I've been doing some form of strength training since I started losing weight. Losing Weight without maintaining muscle works against you. Just focusing on losing weight will reduce your lean muscle mass which assists in burning calories. Start ASAP! I started with using hand weights during aerobics and stability ball…

My family is mostly supportive and complimentary. The most annoying comment is "You're so lucky that you can lose weight. I just can't seem to lose any!" Most people in my family are morbidly obese.

I've been depressed and struggling too. About three months ago, my niece was killed in a car accident. She was pregnant with her first child. Its been devastating to my family. I've been struggling with my eating and gained almost 10 pounds, I'm now back down to within three pounds of where I was. It helped me to remember…

I've lost around 140 lbs. I keep setting goals and stay focused on the next achivement. I started racing. I keep planing new races well in advance. Seeing my before and after pics, keeps things in perspective when I don't make a goal or have a set back.

I love my weekend workout days. Saturdays, I usually have a long run 10+ miles and ride my bike. Sundays, 2 hours of spin, weights and 1+ hours of swimming. Both days, I get to relax and nap the afternoon away.

Awesome! Keep it up!

Sam, You can do it!!! Just run for the experience. Don't try to run your 5k pace. Approach it like a slow jog. This is your first one and take this as a learning experience to get a feel for how to pace the distance. I'm excited for you!

Two years ago, I started at 278. I'm down to 138. . This is where I've been hovering for awhile. I'ld like to lose at least another 5-8 lbs. I changed my profile picture so you can see the before and after My advise is to make a small change. When that's comfortable, make another. Every three weeks, I would would set…

I've lost 140lbs. What I have found is that eating was coping mechanism for emotional issues. As I lost my weight, I still had the emotional issues I hadn't/haven't dealt with. Since my eating crutch has been taken away, I've had to focus more energy on healing the emotional me. I struggle with my insecurities but I'm…

Awesome Job! Its a biggie! Keep up the great work!

On my Tri last weekend, I was third overall for women! On the bike portion, I had a guy gripe that he couldh't believe he was being passed by a girl! :)

I experienced this too! What my doctor suggested and seemed to work for me was getting 20-30% of my calories from protien.

Eat things tht have carbs and protein but low fat. I recommend that you eat a light dinner. "Carb Load" at lunch. Two to three hours before the race, I'll have a bagel.

I've been on Zyrtec and have lost 140lbs. I've not noticed a difference.

Don't worry if you don't make your goal. The true question is "Have you made Progress?" If so, YAY!!!!!

I started running a year ago and know the feeling. The last two races I saw pictures from were taken while it was raining. In both, I'm grinning like an idiot! Apparently, I like it, even in the rain.

You look great! When I started walking/running, I just had to develop an attitude of "if you don't like what you see...look away!" You are way cuter than me!
-
I started doing 5k races May 2011 with times around 46 minutes. Since I've started, I've run three half marathons with the best time being 2:22 minutes. I can now run a 5k in around 28 minutes. You can do it!

There is so much information out there. It can be overwhelming. What worked for me was making one small change and letting that become a habit. Then make the next change. I've lost over 140 lbs in two years. Making the changes slowly allowed me to build a foundation for a lifestyle. This isn't a diet anymore.

My doctor and I came up with mine.

Depending on how overweight you are, it may take more weight comig off before people see that you've lost weight. However, you may start getting comments asking if you've changed your hair or glasses or something else. People will notice a change not just in your appearance but your attitude. Don't get discouraged. Also,…

Yikes! Definitely not me.

Thanks all for your responses. I think its a little of people not being used to my "new" look. I think its also a litte bit of insecurity on both of our parts. Next time she brings it up, I'll thank her for being supportive and tell her I don't really care if people think I'm too thin because that's between my doctor and…
