I won't make my goal by my Dr. appt. Tuesday...

I set a goal last month to weigh 236 by the time I hit the Dr. office on Tuesday. I really don't think I am going to make it. I am right now at 239.6. I would have to lose over 3.5 pounds to get there.
For me the goal was obtainable! It was not over the top. I really did believe that I could do it.
But you know what I am FINE not making the goal. Because I have worked towards that goal. I have been eating right and working out. I am sure I could have done better, but I did the best I could at the time. I still have lost weight since my last visit. In fact I lost almost 6 pounds. Which I am sure will be a good 6 by the time Tuesday rolls around.
And even losing 6 pounds in a month is DAMN good. I am really proud of myself. At least I won't freak the Dr. out this time. The first time I went in I had lost 22 pounds in a month. Her first question was ARE YOU EATING? LOL and I said sure am.
So when you set a goal and you don't make it. Don't beat yourself up about it. Look at how much work you did to get where you are. Look at the progress you made. And then set a new goal.

Don't worry if you don't make your goal. The true question is "Have you made Progress?" If so, YAY!!!!!0

Congratulations! 6 pounds is a great loss for a month and your attitude will keep you going for the long run. Good things are ahead for you!0

Congrats on your hard work, and thank you for your comments.0

In the beginning I lost 10 lbs for the first 3 months each....then less...sometimes 3lbs a month...one month 10, but lately the average is 5. I have been on this journey since Jan 2012. As long as you are losing or maintaining, you are going further, not backwards. It can be discouraging, but you just have to keep pushing forward!0

I'm not sure what you mean by "even". 6 pounds in 4 weeks is amazing. Congratulations, you should be proud.0 -

Last time I tried MFP, I got really demotivated when I wasn't losing exactly two pounds a week or more. This time I told myself that a little weight lost every week is PROGRESS, and PROGRESS is the most important part. Now that I've lost almost twenty pounds, I've gotten into exercising, which will help that progress!
You are super close to your goal and that's what matters, not that you didn't hit it right on the nose. :-)0
