Awesome!

Thanks everyone for the compliments. And yes, it does feel great! This website rocks and has been such a huge (no pun intended) help along the way. :flowerforyou:

Wow. I'm definitely not anorexic and not into eating toilet paper. I started on a low-carb diet because I was pre-diabetic and have had the most success ever in weight loss by eating this way. I can live without the pasta, but thought this might be a good alternative for an every once in a while thing. Pasta, though I do…

@Motivated Mom: I'd say an 8. You are rockin' it.

I skipped ahead to the closest guy and that is Parkercd3 as I don't date women. As for him: Definitely.

This is comment of yours is simply stupid and shows you need a reality check. I have lost 54 pounds and exercise every day. I have gone down in band width, but not cup size. As others have said, everyone is different. I wish I were one of those people who would go down in size as I lost weight, but that doesn't seem to be…

Thanks! And I can't wait to see the chicken pull the train!
-
Wouldn't that be great? Never going to happen though. :frown:

Feel free to add me. As I tell others, we are in this together!

Just thought I'd point out that it is "YOU'RE" not "YOUR." LOL

My food budget has doubled if not tripled. I used to eat just once a day and it was a crappy McDonald's meal for about $3.50. Now I eat 5 or 6 times a day and it is all healthy. It's not a diet for me so much as a way of life now. And holy smokes I feel so much better! No way do I ever want to go back to my "wicked" old…

I had to go low-carb to avoid diabetes as well. I discovered I was pre-diabetic and it freaked me out as I too have a family history and just really don't want to go down that path. I'm not very big on taking medicine unless there isn't another good alternative. Feel free to check out my diary and you can see the types of…

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and support. It's so easy for me to be positive and supportive to others, but not so easy to do so for myself. Go figure. LOL

Thanks!

I like that idea and promise to follow through on this and let you know how they react. As stated before, my family has been very supportive and I think that is part of the reason I don't want to be a disappointment. My step-mom even has called me to ask what foods to have available for me so I don't have to worry about…

Nice! I hear ya. I love the classical music too as well as the older jazz, Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Dave Brubeck and Duke Ellington, but that is chill music. Not work out music.

Congrats on the fantastic loss!

I'm a bit older than you, so I listen to some stuff that is pretty old school for you. Jane's Addiction, Green Day, an Eric Clapton blues album, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, etc. And then just to mix things up, I have some stuff from the musical Chicago because it has a great beat that helps to keep me going.
-
I saw that too. It was very interesting. I like the approach they took with the experiment, but you always have to take that kind of stuff with a grain of salt.

Most everyone I know is aware that I am working on losing weight and doing it via low-carb foods. As a result, most people don't offer me stuff like that anymore. I do have a few friends who seem to think it is funny to try and tease me into eating something I don't really want (such as a piece of cake or candy). I just…

I have no idea why that happens. My best guess is it is like the other posters have said, it is either a side effect of a sleeping pill or just your version of sleep walking. Maybe you should just budget for it in your daily calorie intake. Sorry I'm not much help.

Heck ya! I have bacon on a grilled chicken salad I get at a local diner once a week for lunch after church. It's one of my guilty pleasures for the week. Sad, really, that bacon has become a guilty pleasure. I need more bad habits!

You can add me too if you would like. I have about 30 more pounds to lose and am always looking for more friends and motivation. Having the support of others makes this journey so much better. :)

Congratulations!!! I did a happy dance when I hit One-derland. It is such a great feeling when you go to the doctor and they don't move that weight over to the 200. Keep up the great work! :flowerforyou:

@tubaman: Do you really play the tuba? Nice! Love the brass instruments.

Considering the fact that you have lost 61 pounds, I wouldn't worry too much. You are obviously doing something right! However, if you are crazy hungry on your rest day, try to find some low-cal alternatives. Do you like veggies? An entire red pepper is less than 50 calories and is a great snack. (It's tasty and gives you…

I tried to do my yoga workout once after taking some cold medicine. Let's just say it had an effect on the balance and wasn't pretty. I decided at that point that I should just stop and listen to my body, take some time off to get better, and then get back on the exercise wagon again.

Truly is inspirational. Great job! And happy birthday to boot! You are starting out your 35th year on the right track. Fantastic!
