  • This!! I love the Pilates for Life DVD - I only started doing it a couple of weeks ago but can already see that I'm getting better at it. I agree that classes are best to get proper form etc, but if you can't afford them this is definitely a good second best.
  • :o ***Friday weigh in*** :o Original starting weight: 217lb Ultimate goal weight: ~140lb Challenge starting weight (24/8): 209.2lb Challenge goal weight: 188lb 24/8: 209.2lb 31/8: 208.2lb 7/9: I'd hoped to lose a bit more than 1lb, but in a way I'm glad it was just that as it's made me look back through my food diary and…
  • Just had my first real challenge - we get free lunch at work and today's pudding was delicious churros with hot chocolate sauce. I resisted!! So proud o:) It's the little things...
  • I'm a day late but hope I can still join as this sounds like great motivation! I've got so much to lose that it'll really help to break it down into shorter term goals like this. Good luck to everyone! Stats: female, 32 years old, 5'7", from the UK. Original starting weight: 217lb Ultimate goal weight: ~140lb Challenge…
  • My goal is 8lbs for the month. SW: 217lbs CW: 209.2lbs GW: ~140lbs (or maybe 150, I'll reevaluate when I get closer - I don't want to lose all my curves!)
  • The last time I saw my oncologist's letter to my GP it said "could not palpate spleen" - reading between the lines it meant I was so podgy he couldn't actually get through the layers of fat to feel my spleen! So next time I go to hospital (12 weeks) I want my spleen to be poke-able :D Also I'm bored of being the fat one in…
  • Wow, that's amazing that you've been able to improve so much! I've put on about 3st as well, it doesn't seem to want to come off so easily nowadays (I'm sure people are meant to lose weight on chemo, not gain it!!). Well done for making so much progress, hopefully reading success stories like yours will give me the kick up…
  • Sounds like you had a rough time of it, sorry to hear that. I at least managed most of my twenties cancer-free (got diagnosed at 29) so that's something! It's very reassuring to hear that you managed to exercise - I think a lot of my problem is just a mental block as I'm nervous about trying then failing. I keep wanting to…
  • Thank you! I'm new to the forum (although I've used MFP on and off for years to count calories) and I'm not really sure what I'm doing, so I'm very grateful for your help! Doubt I'm the only one here with cancer but I might be the only one stupid enough to want to exercise with it
  • I joined a gym last week and have spent every workout session hiding at the back on a treadmill, but this morning I braved the weights machines for the first time and nobody laughed at me
