I read ....somewhere... that you burn more calories while asleep than awake (but resting) because your body does stuff like grow and heal while you're asleep where it doesn't when you're awake. I think that's where that trivial info 'You burn more calories sleeping than watching TV' comes from.

I don't know... a taco... a sandwich from subway and salad. These seem like big meals to me. Though I'm recovering from mouth surgery and can only eat liquids. Just grab a soup can (or anything else with a slight weight to it) from your pantry and alternate arms doing tricep reps while you cook dinner, or breakfast or lunch. It's super easy and not boring. :)
