  • I never took any starting photos, but after losing 30lbs, I'm down from a size 16 to a size 10/12. I fit into clothing from high school, even though I'm still 20lbs heavier than I was, and I feel so much better! I'm 5'7" and at 167lbs right now- I started at 200, and I'm NEVER looking back! It got slow after about 3…
  • When I'm hungry, I drink a glass of water or some tea. Also, if do really enjoy coffee, so I let myself have as much of it as I want around midterms. That way I don't feel like I have to have a sweet treat or a bag of chips- I can have coffee instead!
  • I thought about how many sticks of butter I lost the other day- 120. Then I thought: Ewwwwwww. EWWWWWWWW. That is SO MUCH BUTTER! I've been at it for a while and I finally plateaued- but I'll be so glad when I can visualize a shopping cart full of butter. Better in that cart than in my jeans!
  • I gotcha! I want my 26inch waist back! (I started here at 33inch waist, I'm now down to 29!) I've never had hips under 40 or a bust under 32- I'm still a pear, but damn, I love wearing tiny waist clothes!
  • 21 and from Norther New England- add me if you want!
  • I'm in love with the Muller fruit corner greek yogurt. It tastes more "real", I guess!
  • I do it weekly now, I found that I was getting disappointed when my weight fluctuated day to day, and I would rather have a rounded out figure at the end of the week. Then, if I was a bit heavier that day, I feel GREAT the next week when the scale says I've lost something ridiculous like 5lbs! I know its not "really" 5lbs,…
  • I'd been eating around 1200 calories for a couple of weeks and losing about .5-.8lbs per week. Then, last week, I had a busy week and ate out a lot. Despite the gain in calories, (approx. 1400 total per day) I lost 3.2lbs this past week! I think a lot of it depends on the exercise you do, but I haven't had any gains!
  • I still have about 50lbs to lose- although the inches are more important to me! Add me, and I'll throw some support your way!
  • Good luck and welcome to MFP! Feel free to add me, I'm 20!
  • To be honest, I think the best come-back is a "Thank you! I like what you've done with your... (pick something they haven't done anything with ex: hair) I totally love the bedhead look" etc. one backhanded compliment for another.
  • I was a size ten and 150 from the time I was 10 to the time I was 16. After that, I gained weight, and reached an area I never wanted to be in. My mother also struggles with her weight, (esp her body image) and began harassing me about gaining so much weight (about 10 lbs a year since Freshman year of college). I want to…
  • I read somewhere a while ago that when someone tells you they like your outfit/clothes/dress/pants (whatever it may be) it means just that- that they like the garment or style, not that they like the way it looks on you. For the longest time, I've had people come up to me and tell me they love my dress/skirt (i make a lot…
  • I'm 5'8" and 20 years old, SW: 199 CW: 180 GW: 150 I'm on 1280 calories a day and I bought a fitbit about 2 weeks into MFP. I walk approx. 1150 steps a day and do yoga every day for 40 minutes. In 45(ish) days I lost nearly 20lbs! Feel free to add me, anyone!
  • Just turning 21 in August- Feel free to add me!
  • Just next door, in VT!
  • Just be aware of what your body NEEDS to eat versus what looks appealing at the dining hall. Sure, Pizza is going to look better than mushy veggies any day of the week, but is 300 calories for a slice of pizza what you really need? Keep it up and go to the gym as well- remember, if you work it off, you should maintain. If…
  • Trying to do the same thing! Feel free to add me!
  • When you put things onto your plate, think about a serving size. Obviously, guesstimating plays into this big time, but if you choose foods that are going to be fairly good for you anyway, its possible to get your hand son some of those choices before you go, just so you can see what it looks like. Also- if your dining…
  • Wore a shirt yesterday that a month ago was just right- When I got home from work, I noticed it was REALLY loose and that I'd probably been letting the girls see a little too much light all day! Guess it belongs in the "pass on" pile now!
  • I'm in a similar situation- frustrated because my aunt (who doesn't have a job, and hasn't since she was 20) has just lost over 100lbs in a year. Yes, GREAT FOR HER! However- it makes me feel pretty crappy when she and my mother (who lost nearly 60lbs due to an infection in her stomach that will effect her food intake for…
  • I totally know where you're coming from. I've been afraid of working out in a gym for years, and this was confirmed when I went to the gym for the first time about two weeks ago. Yes, the gym was pretty deserted, but the staff on hand is extremely judgmental, and many of the machines were not even turned on. I didn't want…
  • Generally, you do maintain your body shape: HOWEVER- at nearly 200lbs I was a 34-32-47 The last time I was in the 140's, I was 32-27-35 (essentially an hourglass). It all depends on the kind of workouts that you do and how your bone structure is. No, you cannot target a specific area, but you can do different types of…
  • I think I just hit this problem as well- I usually retain a lot more water when I'm on my period, and have a difficult time ESPECIALLY when its humid out exercising during that time. Don't worry about it too much- those extra pounds will disappear again before you know it!
  • 5'7" and at the same weight. I'd also love to be at 140!
  • If you're craving italian, try substituting rice for pasta. Its a lot less caloric, but I love rice cooked in half water, half tomato sauce! Throw a little skim mozzerella cheese in, and you've got a low-cal lasagna taste-alike!
  • I've got a *lot* more than you to lose to be back where I want to be, but I would be glad to be a friend and support you through this! Being in college (on a tight budget) and trying to lose weight can be tough, especially when you're trying to balance social, academic, employment, and more in one package! Be well!
  • I'd like to lose about 50 lbs as well. For me, I need to see that big picture goal of 50lbs, even if it takes me a year an a half to obtain. For now though, I'm allowing myself small rewards on every 10lbs- some cute shoes here, a haircut there, all so I feel good about myself. Do what you have to to stay on track, just…
  • You can totally do it! The first part is the toughest, but also the most rewarding. I've been watching what I eat and walking to work for a little over a week now, and even though I haven't lost anything, I have tons more energy and feel better about myself. Take the time to take care of you! You won't regret it!
