  • That's rough! When we were remodeling our kitchen I was without a stove for a couple months, but I did have my fridge! There are lots of canned soups you can have that are very low in calories - just watch out for the sodium content. And there are some "tv dinners" that are shelf stable. You'll have to look at the…
  • Also if you injured yourself at work, your Dr visit could be covered through Worker's Comp. Hopefully your boss/supervisor knows you hurt your arm & wrist. Good luck to you!!
  • I love 5:2, been doing it off and on for 3-4 years. Just seriously started again a couple weeks ago & have re-lost 5 pounds. I do the "original" with up to 500 calories on my fast days and up to my TDEE on the non-fast days. It works when you do it... not so much when you fall off the wagon <sigh> Good luck to you!!
  • I'm in the opposite "corner" in the Akron area - Northeast Ohio
  • Yep, very true... I've never been a breakfast eater and just naturally fall into an "intermittent fasting/16:8" scenario. Didn't stop me from ending up almost 100 lbs overweight! You still have to watch your intake - no matter what time you decide to start eating for the day. Good luck!
  • Hi Nikki - congratulations on having your 2nd baby!! How old is she and are you breastfeeding? I ask because you need to give yourself time to recover from growing a human!! Also, if you're breastfeeding you need to eat more calories to sustain your milk supply and to keep yourself healthy while feeding her …
  • I don't have anything to add to what's been said above... Good luck to you - sooo frustrating!! I know it takes me forever to lose anything at all due to Type II diabetes and Insulin Resistance <sigh> If your Dr performs the tests that were suggested, I hope you find your answer ((Hugs))
  • I never complete my day... so then I don't have to see that! All my diary info is still there, I'm just not seeing "Karen completed her day and was under (over) her calories, blah, blah, blah"
  • Oh, I know!! My heart just dropped when I saw the subject thinking something had happened to this wonderful treasure we know as Betty White <3
  • I did my first fast after almost 2 weeks "off" yesterday. It felt so good I'm doing a B2B today, lol. I love this way of eating/life... I've been doing 5:2 (off and on) for almost 3 years. I'm a very v-e-r-y slow loser so I still have quite a ways to go - BUT I'm 40 pounds less than I was 3 years ago which is GREAT! My…
  • I normally only eat breakfast on Sunday when I go out to eat with my husband. I might have something small around 10am (I get up at 6am during the week) if I get hungry. Otherwise I wait until noon when I have lunch. I find that if I eat "breakfast," I want to continue eating all_day and am never satisfied.
  • I have a Fitbit Alta that I've been wearing since the end of January. I like that it buzzes to tell me to move during the day. I have a sedentary job and don't always think about getting up and moving around. So it's nice that I "have" to get up and move 250 steps once an hour, lol. I recently bought a Fitbit Alta HR but…
  • I weigh myself in the morning after I pee & just before I get into the shower... so I'm naked. I don't let them weigh me at the Dr - I tell them what I weighed that morning and they record that.
  • Oooo, they're in Kent - that's not far from me at all (Cuyahoga Falls)... gonna have to give this place a try!!
  • I've naturally done 15:9 or 16:8 for most of my adult life - I only eat breakfast on the weekend when I go out with my husband. Still didn't stop me from being almost 100 pounds overweight... you can eat a LOT of food in an 8 or 9 hour window, lol. Sooo, I still need to track but I also do the 5:2 which works very well for…
  • As long as you don't start feeling too deprived with only 1200 calories, I don't see why you can't continue! As you get closer to goal and start to transition into maintenance you will slowly add calories until you find your "sweet spot" for maintaining your weight - good luck to you.
  • Check out the link above for some more insight, but it's not a "true" fast for most people - me included. I eat up to 500 calories twice a week and at my maintenance level (TDEE) the other five days. I've been doing this for about 2 years and have pretty painlessly lost almost 40 pounds. Now keep in mind that I lose…
  • According to what I've read, you need to eat at least your BMR - but less than your TDEE - in order to lose weight... I would aim for 1400 calories a day and you should see some results. Good luck!
  • 100 calories is nothing in the "grand scheme of losing weight." lol. I took a walk on my afternoon break and burned 125 calories in 15 minutes... easy peasy to make it up. Yes, you should definitely keep track of your steps to see how much you've burned through exercise. I don't usually eat back my calories, but it's nice…
  • 37+ years ago (when I was very young and dumb, lol) I ate 500 calories a day for about 3 months and lost just over 30 pounds. I was able to keep it off for only a short time since I didn't really learn how to eat correctly when not on such a restricted deficit. Currently I follow 5:2 - which is 2 days a week at up to 500…
  • I've never been a breakfast eater either. So, I normally don't eat until lunch (other than my huge morning mug of tea). I do go out to breakfast on the weekend with my husband but that's usually not until I've been up for a couple hours... and then I tend to want to E.A.T. all_day_long!!
  • I've been doing 5:2 for a couple years. I'm a v.e.r.y slow loser (insulin resistance, type 2...) but I have lost almost 40 pounds. My husband started doing it with me a few months ago - he's lost over 20 pounds so far. Once you get in a routine, it's just like anything else "diet" related and it's not hard. We normally…
  • Those sound lovely!! I copied your recipe - they sound like something my husband would LOVE! Thank you for sharing
  • Yesterday was the first fast of the new year for hubby & myself. He had a Dr appt last nite and she was very pleased with his weight loss over the last few months (20+ pounds ♥). I'm a little jealous cuz the weight is coming off v.e.r.y slowly for me, but oh well - it is what it is, lol. I'm thinking about a B2B today but…
  • Try having a big glass of water and waiting 15 minutes to see if the hunger passes. A lot of time we "think" we're hungry but actually it's thirst.
  • When I drank diet (don't any longer since I don't care for aspartame), I drank Diet Coke - caffeine free diet coke was a good one! When I drink regular, I prefer Pepsi over Coke - but regular Dr Pepper over both, lol I don't normally drink much soda (POP in Ohio :p ) anymore; I prefer water or unsweetened iced tea.
  • I hate the thought that book 10 will be the end of Jamie & Claire's story. But, Diana is 64 years old at this point and it takes her at least 3 years (usually 4-5) to write one of the big books. If we don't have book 9 until 2018, that would be 2021 or 2022 for book 10... She will be 70 years old and while she is the…
  • "I Love Sam and Cait, I just cannot get with the actress that plays Bree. not what I pictured at all. While reading I always pictured Merida from Brave with a boston accent. But I am loving the cast for grown up Fergus, Lord John Grey and Ian. I think Ian is my favorite character from the books." I'm willing to give Bree a…
  • I LOVE Outlander - books and series. I had a "summer of Gabaldon" about 10 years ago and read the 1st five books. The 6th book, A Breath of Snow and Ashes came out about a month after I finished The Fiery Cross. Now waiting for a new book is really Droughtlander, lol. It seemed to take f_o_r_e_v_e_r between book 7, An Echo…
  • 16 1/2 hours with 3 teenage girls in the back of the mini-van... driving from Akron Ohio to Disney World in Florida. Would do it again in a heartbeat! I love to drive and *REALLY* love Disney ºoº
