I have been running for about 9 months now...started sometime in February. I'm currently training for a half marathon in February 2013, and am just building up my mileage (Sunday was my first 5-miler). This week and next are 13 miles, but the following week goes up to 18, yikes!! My goal for the half is just to finish,…

I had my second baby in December 2011. I was holding her up to my cheek and turned my head to look in a mirror at us....yeah, I couldn't believe how much FACE I had!! It was horrifying, and I knew that I just had to do something. I hated looking in the mirror, and that had to STOP! I found MFP while searching for workouts…

Hey there, my name is Val, and I'm in this for life! I had my second baby 8 months ago, and at the height of my pregnancy, I was 275 pounds. I'm down to 225 (whew!), but my goal weight is 150.

Good morning! I've been at this for a while, too, and have had to make some adjustments. And, at first, I kept gaining and I was like, "WTH??" So, I really started tracking what I ate. I was at 1200, and it wasn't enough for me. I went up to 1600 and dropped 4lbs in one week. That's not necessarily the best for everyone,…

Mine was originally set my MFP at 1200 daily, and that was to lose at least 2lbs per week. First few weeks, I gained. I did some research, and really learned about TDEE and BMR. My BMR is almost 1800! Wow, so I edited my settings and set my calories for 1600 daily - BAM, dropped 4lbs in a week!!! I would say try adjusting…

 Running is now FABULOUS! I started the C25K program (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml) 11 weeks ago - I repeated week 2 and week 9 - and now I can run more than three miles. I agree with one of the other posters - you don't have to be super speedy, and all you need is a good pair of shoes and…
