Hi Jesslynn! Im currently going through a 12 week mandated course with my insurance that is preparing me to have a Vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG). In this course we have discussed the different surgery options and while my insurance will cover a Lap Band, the doctors that teach the courses seem to have us lean for…

Hi, Im adding you as a friend. I am working towards my VSG this year, hoping my May. In order to do so my insurance (Kaiser) has me going through 12 weeks of classes where we talk to dietitians, psychologists, and other medical professionals. I have not been very successful on my own even though I have felt that I made a…

I'd like to wear shorts someday, I don't think I've worn shorts in public since I was 15.

I don't think they ever go away completely, I've noticed temptations are more manageable but cravings are still there. I know that I don't need to have any of the cookies that are placed on the counter at my work, but I do want something sweet when I get home today. Just be patient, drink water or try things that you can…

I want my SO to be able to carry me. Right now I feel way too heavy to be carried and would be freaked out if someone tried.

Wow! so amazing, it sounds like you're telling my story. I have been the same and have recently started taking generic Zoloft. I have started to see a positive outlook and have been able to get up to do the things that I couldn't just a few days ago. I live alone so I could hide it pretty well from everyone saying that I…

Yes! absolutely. I have to, it helps me with knowing what I will be eating for the day. I usually log all of my food in the morning and do my best to stick to that. I have a lot of stuff in my fridge that is either already cooked or prepared for me to cook right away when I get home from work. I pack my lunches the night…

Hi! You can add me, I started MFP back in Aug. of last year and went off for the holidays, with vacations and all. I am currently 25 days being back, and have lost 6 lbs of the 10 lbs that I gained after going off of MFP for a few months. You are welcome to look at my food diary too.

You can add me, I eat around 1600-1700 calories a day.

Bump for reference. I will try these soon. Thanks!

Found this explanation to be a pretty simple guide, I set my macros according to the information in this thread. It has been very helpful to me. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/512956-tdee-what-is-it-and-why-you-should-not-eat-below-your-bmr?hl=Anewlucia

I would like to join this, it seems like good motivation. However, I just started working out, and really don't know what is a realistic goal to set, I think what I have below is doable. Name/Username: Vera Current Weight :230 Total pounds you want to lose: 49 Goal weight for March 31: 232-220 Goal Weight for April 30 :…

I think it is just important to keep track of what you eat in general. Logging your food will let you see what you need to cut out, just make sure to be honest about it. I personally love love love my coffee in the morning and used to always use full calorie and full sugar coffee-mate creamer such as hazelnut. I switched…

Wow! Great picture, thanks for sharing the story. I have been logging my food on this site since last year. I have lost 16 lbs but this is still really far from where I want to be. This is actually my first day checking out the community as well, I figure that if I have been able to do something on my own, it would be much…

I love the idea of eating a yogurt with only naturally occurring sugar in it, I will go out and buy one of everything mentioned so far. lol
-
That sounds like a great suggestions, I have never thought of adding SF syrup to my yogurt for extra taste. I currently buy that syrup and use it strictly in my coffee. That is a great suggestion, I will be experimenting with this soon. I don't have a problem using splenda, but my experience with Light N Fit has been that…

I see what you mean, I put it in my smoothie so it doesn't need all of the extra sugar. I use a protein powder and add frozen strawberries with almond milk. I will try plain yogurt, but I'm not sure if I can eat it as a snack unless I added something to it.
