  • Haha, that is why I was unsure, but I figured that some personal experience would be nice to hear.

  • Thanks, vlawhn and bluechip777! Very helpful. Are T3 and T4 tests also blood tests? I really don't want to see another doctor, since in the past 5 months I have been to a neurologist, ophthalmologist, and neuro-ophthalmologist AND had a spinal tap, blood patch, two MRIs, and many visual field tests to get diagnosed with…

  • @srsteier, I will definitely keep an eye on it! I don't think I have many symptoms at this point, but I do want to be proactive about it if I will end up with hypothyroidism...I don't want to let any symptoms get out of hand! @hannahchipmun, I didn't mention anything at my physical because I didn't have the results yet…

  • Higher numbers mean hypothyroidism, lower numbers mean hyperthyroidism. That's about the extent of my knowledge! Ha. The "healthy" ranges that I've seen in my google-research have been so varied that I don't know what to think.

  • Mmm sound delicious! Definitely going to make them soon :)
  • I'm 5'10 and my goal weight is 165. But I at least want to get into the healthy BMI category (173 and under), and see how I feel - my ultimate goal is to be able to maintain a healthy weight relatively easily. I don't want to get down to 130 or something and then gain 35 back!
  • 6 oz Greek yogurt with fruit and flax seed stirred in - low calorie and very filling! Hard boiled eggs. "Green" smoothie - two big handfuls of spinach, fruit, yogurt, and seeds of your choice, all blended together. I usually make a bunch, then freeze it in individual cups. Take one out the night before, stick it in the…
  • Try exercises that are easier on your joints...swimming, walking, or even the elliptical! As you get stronger, high impact exercises will get easier and less painful. :) Good luck!
  • Yeahhh, most of the online calculators I've seen put me in something WAY bigger than a DDD, but I know I'm not that big because my boobs are threatening to fall out of my 42DDD cuz it's so big...haha. So we'll see. I am looking for something cheap, though, because I have a lot more weight to lose and don't want to spend a…
  • Wow, sounds like Nordstroms wins! I will be going there soon. Thanks everyone!
  • Awesome! I have only been at this for a couple months, but have seen big changes in my health...blood pressure down, pulse down, and who knows what will be improved at my next physical. Not to mention I feel so much better in general!
  • Haha, that is awesome! I just might have to do something like that...
  • Just graduated! Feel free to add me!
  • I just graduated college and SO wish I would have started losing weight earlier! Good luck, you can do it! :)
  • Request sent!
  • Nathan Adrian!
  • I'm 5'10, start weight was 270, current weight 245, goal weight 165ish. It seems like even 25 pounds barely shows since I have so much height...do you ladies have that problem too!?
  • Ohh, interesting, I didn't know that about vitamin absorption. That is definitely a pro for eating more fats, I don't want my diligent vitamin-taking and vegetable-eating to go to waste!

  • Yeahhh, I remember when I started tracking sodium. It was quite the shocker. Haha. It's not necessarily that sodium causes weight gain or anything, it just causes you to retain water, which can hurt on the scale. And in general, high sodium foods are not very healthy...so trying to keep away from sodium often means that…
  • It might be a good idea to track sodium - there is always so much hiding in processed foods! My other suggestion would be to eat more fruits and veggies...most are low calories, so they easily fit into your daily goals, and have lots of fiber, which helps to feel full. Not to mention all the vitamins and minerals that help…
  • I opened up my diary for you! I looked back a bit and did find one day I went over on fats...a day I ate lunch out. Ohhh, restaurants! I do only have skim milk, fat-free yogurt, and 1 or 2% cottage cheese...but I HATE anything over 2% milk. If it seems worth it, I'll definitely buy full-fat yogurt and cottage cheese,…

  • I am rarely hungry. That's why I'm asking...I don't feel deprived in what I eat, but if there are benefits to eating more fat other than feeling full, I want to hear about them! :) My highest weight was around 278, I started MFP at 270, and now I'm at 245. My calories are currently set at 1450 per day, and I net anywhere…

  • I've read that you burn more calories during your lady time...though I think it's only around 300 extra per day. But still - that's a nice little ice cream cone or something!
  • Well, hopefully a little something will happen for me in the world of lifting, because I have somehow ended up with strong legs, an okay core, and the arms of a 7 year old girl! I would love to feel all buff and go hang out with the guys in the "real" weight room, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to lift the…
  • Okay, maybe I'll set mine to 40/30/30 and see what happens! I'm not necessarily trying to build a ton of muscle, just getting healthy, which for me means losing weight and at least maintaining muscle...I've been lifting 2-4 times per week and do cardio 6 days per week, so maybe 40/30/30 will be my perfect ratio!
  • Bump?
  • I would LOVE to wow my extended family by being in ONEderland by Christmas. :) So 47 pounds in 6 months...I can do it!
