Not only is each person different, but depending where you are in your fitness journey its going to be very different too. If you have 30+ pounds a week, you should probably be at 1-2 lbs a week. If its between that 10-30, my guess is that it would be closer to 1 lb. Anything less than 10 lbs, I wouldn't even call it a…

I finished Insanity a little over a month ago and didn't use the nutrition guide at all. The only thing that's important is to make sure you're eating the right number of calories. Of course things like incorporating lean proteins and eating smaller meals more often are good, but the real important factor here is the…

The absolute best tasting, best for you bars are PureFit (www.purefit.com). No gluten, no dairy, no wheat, low GI, no sugar alcohols. And they taste DELICIOUS!

Thanks for all the kind words everyone!

Yes absolutely, so long as your niece isn't a beginner to fitness - the program is truly Insane! But yeah., I found the program really fun (in a crazy omg that's hard but i love it type of way haha) and very effective.

I've been using shakeology for a little over a month now and I absolutely love it. There really is nothing like it on the market - there are things that are close, but for how good it tastes (the chocolate that is, the greenberry is too "green" for my liking honestly) and the benefit you get out of it, its awesome. At…

I was in the same situation and month ago and everyone recommended the Polar FT7. I ended up getting it and its fantastic. Accurate, easy to use, easy to change batteries down the road. HIGHLY recommended!

I can vouch for this - probably the best tasting protein drink I've ever tasted!

That's some serious results! I had great results with P90x and hoping for more of the same with Insanity (1 month in).

I've done P90x and am currently half-way through Insanity. I plan on doing a hybrid after. People often lump the two together because they're both Beachbody programs and are both extreme. In reality, they are very different programs. P90x is more focused on strentgh training and their method of attack is what they call…

I have two goals, really: 1) To go below 200lbs for the first time in over 8 years 2) To end my yo-yoing ways. I went from nearly 260 to 205 from Jan 09 to Aug 09. I then went from 205 to nearly 235 from Aug 09 to Apr 10. Now I'm at 211. Its taken some soul searching to figure out my personal issues and some help from…

I'm a huge fan of the show and have been very curious about the calorie intake as well. During last season, Koli mentioned in one of the episodes that his intake was around 1,500 calories on the ranch so I'm guessing its 1,500 for everyone (at least the men).

Thanks for the tip!

Honestly the best thing is vodka water. A friend turned me onto it. I know it sounds stupid, but if you get a good quality vodka and toss a lime in there, its quite tasty. Vodka has the least amount of calories of all the liqour (albeit by a small margin). Plus the water you get in ever drink keeps you hydrated. I used to…

Hi everyone, Hope you don't mind if I join your challenge a bit late! I'm on a compressed timeline and will be in London for a week on business but I still will do my best to lose 5 lbs by the end of the month! Weigh in - Aug. 9th: 227.2

This has been my struggle all my life. I have no problems losing weight. None whatsoever. My problem is once I lose a good chunk of weight, I allow myself to have a couple cheat meals which end-up snowballing into weeks of eating like crap and not exercising. I think its very important to really believe and acknowledge you…

Thanks for the kind words. nosidda: I do log-in everything I eat and my workouts - but only when I'm being healthy. If I had a cheat meal/day, I feel embarrassed to come to the website and log in. You're aboslutely right about the accountability - its why one of my goals is to log-in everyday merbee: You've lost over 60…

Thanks for the encouraging words! I remember a couple years ago my personal trainer said that he used to love junk food and that after cutting it all off for a while, he started to get sick of it. I hear this from a lot of people. When I started my weight loss last January, I went for 2 months without eating a bad meal.…

Motivation is a huge thing. I'm always motivated to start an am happy when I do (just like this morning). Going cold-turkey is fairly easy too. Its always though some event that is innocent that snowballs. I think its mentally I'm too hard on myself. I'll have the burger and think grea, I ruined the day, might as well eat…

Its always great to hear people who share similar experiences! That's what great about the fourms - quite frankly, its what got me through P90x. I hope I will have a similar experience in this thread!

Thanks for all the words so far everyone. Compounding my issue with eating is the fact that I over eat when I'm eating "whatever I want." I won't have a couple slices of pizza - I'll eat the entire thing. I don't think my eating is related to any emotional issue. I do want to eat some bad food when I'm depressed but that's…
