Hi,
That's a great result. I am only getting about half that.
What kind of eating plan are you following?0 -
remember to reset your goals very time you checkin with a weight0
-
Yes im loosing about 1-2lbs a week! Im on slimfast aswell, but it does slow down after a few week. My first week on slimfast i lost 6lbs! Now its down to 2lbs a week if that! Keep on going! Weldone!!0

I understand that .5 - 1 kg (about 1 - 2 lb) weight loss a week is a healthy rate, so celebrate this and keep up the good work.
Don't believe shows like Biggest Loser where they lose completely unrealistic amounts of weight each week!
It's also pretty common to lose weight fastest when you start then it will slow down, which is quite normal.0 -
about 2lbs0

Yes 2lb a week is excellent - The recomended rate to lose0
-
1-2 pounds now that the initial water weight has come off. Slow and steady...0
-
I had been losing about a kilo a week then I had 2 weeks where I didn't lose much at all. I had to adjust my calories slightly.0
-
I've lost 35 lbs since my highest weight and I did that in 3 months - very extreme diet...6 years later - I have kept the weight off by eating healthy and exercising but now that I would like to lose the "last 20 pounds" or even 10, it is so much HARDER.
Weight comes off only when I'm really strick in my exercise and diet. I can lose 2lbs a week at that rate but then if you slip, it does come back (think holidays, birthdays, etc.)0 -
I'm averaging about 2 pounds a week since I started, but I'm not expecting that or setting a goal for that.0
-
I'm shedding a pound a week and I'm quite happy with that. It's important to me that I don't feel punished so I eat dessert with my family (late at night) if I want it. And my exercising is sporadic. So there's tons of room for improvement as I go along!0
-
For me about 2lb at the moment but I know it'll slow down soon. It kind of depends how much you have spare. It's gets harder as you get leaner.0

I'm losing 1-2 lbs a week.
I work out 6 days a week (9 workouts) and eat 1200-1300 cals (sometimes 1400).0 -
2lb the first few weeks, 3lb this week. my aims for 2.0

I'm stuck. Seriously. I haven't lost or gained weight, but I look better & my clothes fit better. I work out, mixing up my workouts all the time and that's where the biggest difference is (building muscle & losing fat)
Don't focus too much on "weight" loss: instead, invest in a tape measure (you can get one at a grocery store or Wal-Mart for less than $2) and measure. When I thought I was stuck in October (I hadn't lost anything since August), I got out my tape measure & discovered that I had lost 2inches off each thigh!
Keep in mind also, that the first few weeks or months you may lose more than average since your body is adjusting to a new regime and a lot is water weight & toxins from foods that your body is finally letting go of. Once you start to get even closer to goal, it becomes even harder because there are not a whole lot of toxins or water weight holding you back (I'm stuck on my last 9lbs, but I can live with that if I build more muscle & lose more fat ).
You're doing great; keep it up :flowerforyou:0 -
I generally loose about a 1 to 1.5 a week. Some weeks I loose 2 but those are the weeks I feel deprived in some way. I don't like feeling that way so I'm happy with less. I haven't set any type of goal date to loose so much weight. Slow and steady is fine. It took me year to loose the first 50.0

I am at 1lb a week. Thats perfect because I was aiming for 1/2lb a week.0
-
It started out with about 5 pounds the first 2 weeks, now it's about 1.0 - 1.5 a week. Kinda slow, I'd love it if it were more, but I refuse to starve myself. So I keep my calories at about 1400 and am happy with the pace. I'd have to stick with 1100 to lose 2 a week, and I just can't do it. I'd be one crabby woman0

Thank You for asking this question as it is something that I have been thinking about. I've also been loosing about 2 pounds a week and was wondering if that was kind of slow. I'm looking at this journey as a life change so I need to change in a way that I know I will be able to live with for the rest of my life. It is important to me to eat with my family and to eat what they are eating. I just eat a lot less. Also, I have a huge sweet tooth so I allow myself a small treat or two each day. I make sure to incorporate the treats into my daily calories so I don't go over. So far I'm down 9 pounds and haven't felt deprived so I have been able to stick to the program. It is just hard after 45 years of bad habits and choices.0

Thanking all for your replies, I too am treating myself a little everyday to avoid getting bored of the exercising or healthier eating ( I have usually stopped by now and gone back into my old regime) sometimes I am my own worse enemy and want the numbers to drop quicker than there are but with that said, I am now a stone lighter and probably the lightest weight I have been for a good few years. Luckily, this app and the support oft family are helping me along even though I am slowing down in weight loss. I have also decided to go to weekly weigh in as I have something to look forward to.
I have just got back from a 4 mile walk and jog session and feel amazing, my legs are sore and but my motivation is on fire. 600 calories better off and although I'm starting to think the inches Arnt coming off the wife is saying different but then, she always does lol.
Thanks guys for making this journey easier with your comments
Xx

Not only is each person different, but depending where you are in your fitness journey its going to be very different too. If you have 30+ pounds a week, you should probably be at 1-2 lbs a week. If its between that 10-30, my guess is that it would be closer to 1 lb. Anything less than 10 lbs, I wouldn't even call it a weight loss journey anymore - it’s a body fat loss journey. I'm a little over 6 feet tall and about 195 now. I'm guessing my ideal weight could be 180 to 205 lbs - it depends on how much muscle I have. I'd look much better and be in better shape at 205 with 10% body fat than 180 than 20%.
Lot of people are preaching measuring body fat versus actual weight loss - and for good measure. The tape measure test is good too, but again realize where you are in your journey. Of course, the measurement is clothes and the mirror. When you look at your body at all angles and you are eating right and exercising, you will see the results come through. I recommend doing all tests (weight loss, body fat loss, tape measure, clothes test, picture test) - that way, you know for sure if you're getting closer to your goals.0 -
I think everyone is different, different metabolisms, different ethnic types which determine your genetic makeup, etc. What works for one person might not work for others. For me, I've lost 8.2 lbs in 24 days, other people have lost 20 lbs in a month, other people 10, it just depends.0

If I am lucky I lose 1 pound a week. However, a lot of weeks it takes me two weeks to lose 1 pound.0
-
I was loosing 2 lbs a week but last week I lost nothing. I worked out 5 days last week and was around 1350 on the days I worked out and 1200 they days I did not. I am not sure why I didn't loose anything. I hope I loose 2 this week.0
