weight! You'll get more shredded cheese by weight than by volume (yay!) but less sour cream by weight than by volume (boo!) For example- 1 serving of sour cream is 2 TBSP- 30 g, 60 calories. I used to measure out my 2 TBSP and log my 60 calories. Yeah- wrong. My 2 TBSP was actually 57 grams, almost 2 whole servings! And…

Yep! Assuming right now you can run a minute at a time that's enough time to do C25K. You only need to run 3 days a week, at max 40 minutes.

If you're afraid of the scale but would like to see numbers, take measurements.

Consistency is key. I weigh myself at the gym with no shoes, usually before dinner. No big deal if I see some fluctuations.

I'll second the couch to 5k app! I recently finished the program but I'm not up to a full 5k yet. BUT I can run 3 miles in 32 minutes. 32 minutes of straight running! If you would have asked me a year ago if I could have done it I would have laughed in your face.

I eat my calories back. I'd starve if I didn't. I'm still losing weight at a healthy rate. My guy is set up based on TDEE and his goal is the same every day, regardless of workouts (he generally does M-F at the gym). Neither way is wrong, but if you don't want to eat back your exercise calories then you should be using…

I'm usually so exhausted as I run that all my time is spent praying for the energy to not give up. As I progress and have some more energy as I run I'll definitely use it as a time for prayer for other things :)

I've yet to run a 5k, but I just graduated C25K on the treadmill. In 30 minutes I ran 2.63 miles. If I could keep that pace, my 5k time would be about 36:22.

24 female 5'3" SW: 153 CW: 136 GW: 120s I work full time and attend college part time on campus and online. I go to church and bible studies I don't drink. I just graduated C25K even though I'm not up to 3.1 miles yet, just 2.6 miles in 30 minutes. I bought 30 Day Shred but I haven't started it yet. I would like a trainer…

I'm also 5'3" and started at 153, and I'm a student. Do you have kitchen access or are you in a dorm with limited options? I like to cook a bunch of chicken or pork and potatoes at once then just weigh out what I want for dinner and re-heat. I think weighing your food will make a difference if you've been guessing at how…

Talk to your doctor. Depending on how overweight you are they might only want you to gain about 15 pounds. Nobody here is qualified to give you a calorie recommendation or total weight gain goal for the pregnancy though.

I've had a membership there for a little over 2 years. I got a deal for signing up before they opened my location and I pay $20/month as part of a family membership. I've never been a member of another gym as an adult so I can't compare to others, but I like it. I can go whenever I want (bonus for somebody working full…

I'm glad you got the 2nd day in :) I noticed smokinjoe said he worked up to 6 mph before he tried C25K again- eek! Maybe that's a good pace for him, but I finished C25K Wednesday and I can't run faster than 5 mph, 1 or 2 minutes at 6 mph has me feeling like death. I guess I'm just saying if your jogging speed isn't even…

Please stop starving yourself. You should be netting no less than 1,200 calories per day, after taking into account calories burned.

I have a full time job, I go to college part time, I am a new homeowner, and I make time for the gym, my guy and church. Prioritize your time and don't make excuses for why you "can't" anything.

Your current BMI puts you at slightly overweight, hard to believe from your profile picture though. 75 kg will put you right at the top end of healthy BMI, so it wouldn't be unhealthy to weigh a little less. I would focus more on strength than just weight once you're at a healthy BMI though.
-
Because it won't fill you up and you'll be wondering how 350 calories could be so empty. Or just devour it and hit the gym later.

Snowed in? Go shovel your way out! I say this in jest of course. There are some days I just can't bring myself to deal with the snow. Really though, if you want some hot chocolate then go shovel yourself enough calories.

I got whatever was at Walmart, I think this http://www.walmart.com/ip/Starfrit-Electric-Kitchen-Scale/28329885 It was cheaper in store though. All I need is a zero/tare button and the option to switch from g to oz. The one I got, I believe, also weighs negative- meaning if I put my tub of sour cream on, zero it out, and…

I'm not technically alive in the mornings. I am some sort of zombie that manages to get dressed and in my car with not a minute to spare. Nights however, I can make myself go, even after working 9-5:30 and going to school from 6:30-9 pm, and not getting back into my down until almost 10 pm. Thankfully that's only one night…

I consider myself lucky since my guy is trying to lose weight too, and he's a great cook. He loves to cook chicken breast with some fresh veggies and rice, or a veggie omelette- I could go on. Anyways- I love cooking with him, it's a lot of fun and a good way to spend time together. Maybe you and your bf could agree to…

There's nothing wrong with taking an extra break day, the last thing you want to do is injure yourself running. You may have been going too fast though- start out running as slow as you possibly can. If you can slow down, you're going too fast.
