I suspect that myfitnesspal has been sold and the new owners are not on it. Too bad. I have a really extensive data base and I'd be happy to keep using this system. But its not worth the frustration of using a system with so many glitches. Its kinda funny. When you log in now, there is a window asking if you want to pay…

Welcome back! You're at my starting weight. That was 105 lbs ago! I wish you wellness. (*)

There are no fruits and veggies in your diet today! :o These food groups give you a lot of the nutrients that you need. My only advice is to make sure that you are eating enough to stay healthy while you loose weight. When you crash diet, you end up hurting your body in the long run. I like the sound of grilled veggies for…

Your movement helps the stomach/intestines do their work of moving food through the digestive tract. When you sleep, you aren't moving, and the food doesn't move through as smoothly. That's why heartburn is a risk. Doing this is likely to cause you harm long term.

I'm curious. Does running around this board posting sarcastic and condescending stuff make the rest of your life bearable? You seem to be putting so much time and energy into belittling other people. I can't imagine how terrible I would have to feel about myself in order to put that much energy into making other people…

Sadly, no. I wasn't kidding: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15987666 http://www.npr.org/blogs/thesalt/2014/01/15/262741403/why-sugar-makes-us-feel-so-good

Icecream is the narcotic. It acts on your brain just like a drug. They have science and stuff that has show this fairly conclusively. If you can manage to eat just a small portion, go for it. But if you're really an addict, you might just be switching substances without managing your addictive brain. I will put another…

Oh my goodness! You are adorable!

I'm a binger. I've done exactly what you are doing. I've eaten until it hurts and then I've eaten more to try to dull the pain of how much my stomach hurts from all that binging. I've stopped at multiple fast food stores so that the attendant can't tell how much I'm eating. I've eaten crazy things. Its a totally crazy…

Thank you for this moment of sanity. I'm going to let it be the last thing I read tonight. I love almond milk, too. Its a nice compliment to coffee as it has a lightly nutty taste. Never did take to cottage cheese. Sounds like torture food for dieters, but to each their own. I like a nice unsweetened soy yogurt.

PCRM is not funded by PETA. Please! PCRM is an organization that is dedicated to promoting vegan lifestyle, so yes, the evidence they give is going to be tilted one way. In general, they are much more rational than PETA, which is like the evil step mother of the vegan world - demanding all of the attention and doing…

I get migraines when my blood sugar gets low, but it sets things into motion and I have a migraine for up to a week after each incident. You are lucky!

I've been there. I don't see Petadolex on your list of things that you've tried. Its a preparation of butterbur. Also, I use Saint John's Wort. (Make sure it doesn't interact with any medications you are taking before trying this one.)

I had this problem. I just couldn't do it alone. I went for years wanting to get off of sugar, but I couldn't make it more than one day with out a least a dose of sugar, usually a lot more. I didn't like feeling like I was dependent on a substance. And the sugar often became an excuse to eat more than I need to eat. I…

Agave nectar is good. Its a nice alternative to honey, as its about the same consistency. You should be aware, however, that the health claims around this stuff are, in my opinion, complete baloney. Its the same as any sweetener. Worse even, according to some standards, when it comes to how our body converts it into energy…

Life is not an episode of the biggest looser. Do you mean that you eat 500 calories below what MFP recommends for weight loss? That kind of behavior could be putting your body into a metabolic tailspin. Long term, very low calorie diets will result in weight gain and/or an eating disorder. 2000 calories in one day isn't…

^this. Why would you even bother to try canning?

Dark leafy greens have protein and very few calories, so that's yet another reason why they are important. Sprinkling nutritional yeast on everything ups the protein value. Frankly, I'm curious about what you consider too little protein and what you are eating. Its pretty impossible to end up with too little protein if…

I've been vegan for almost 4 years. Willing to lend advice/support if anyone wants it. I should add that I lost 40 lbs going vegan, four years ago, and that they've stayed off, since this is a weight loss page. I'm still plump, but I'm a lot healthier!

I have training in nutrition as an alternative medical provider. (Totally not the medical establishment.) B-12 does not come from algae. It just doesn't. Nutritional yeast, yes. Algae no. If you don't include a mainstream b-12 source regularly, you will get sick eventually, but it might take years. Some people don't…

I try not to do things that support people who do things that are harmful. That's why I'm vegan in the first place. I stopped clicking when I went to a page about saving whales and the "whale" in question was a fat woman. These kinds of messages hurt women and ultimately, they hurt the vegan movement because they make us…

I'm afraid you are the one spouting old and mis-proven information. Nutritional yeast is a food (a whole food) which contains lots of b-12. One tablespoon a day can complete your requirements. Also, the only people claiming that the studies in FOK are bunk are from the westonprice foundation. They are, shall we say, not…

It sounds like you have a great diet. But you should be aware that algae doesn't have all the b-12 human beings need. The only food source that I know of is nutritional yeast. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it. Its super yummy over hot veggies or made into a creamy sauce! There is a new mushroom being sold…

That's opinion, not fact. Plenty of plant food have quality protein. Nuts, beans. Soy is high in quality protein.

For me, eating in a way that my actions are aligned with what I feel is right is central to making me healthy, mind and body. Ten years ago, I jumped off the vegan wagon for about 7 years. During that time, i gained 50 pounds. I don't think that the main problem was in how much animal protein I ate. I think the problem was…
