Hi there I am Donna from Australia - I am 54 years old and need to lose another 75 lbs or 30 kg. I am looking for challenges to help me stay motivated.

I had to translate to kms - I am running at best at 7-7.5 km but only for short times - which is a bit slower than what you are currently running at - I also have the incline set at 1.5-3 depending as I have a lot of hills where I live. I am using the treadmill as it is too hot to run outside during the day here…

I haven't been doing any running/jogging as I had a bad cut on my heel for last few weeks and was up to W5D3 and this afternoon decided to have a go on the treadmill - had thought about going back a couple of weeks but thought I would give it a go. I wasn't able to jog the whole 20 minutes I needed a couple breaks and…

if you have put it on very quickly with in recent times - then get back to your calorie level; leave the alcohol (totally empty cals) alone; drink heaps of water and increase calorie burn - each pound you need to lose = 3500 cals deficit - 10 pounds = 35,000 cal deficit over 3 weeks is around 12,000 cals a week is around…

We have this in Australia already - it is really annoying from one point of view as my hubbie gets so mad when we are travelling as I have no idea what I can have so I spend heaps of time staring at the numbers and end up having a coffee and garden salad or coke zero while he has whatever and then says I make him feel bad!

Good on you for determining to start again - my advice is simple - take things a day at a time - set small goals - and celebrate with non food rewards! If you have a bad day - take it on the chin - tomorrow is another day. We all are individuals so we need to concentrate on ourselves and not on what others achieve.

It is all so relative - I am bragging right now about being able to wear size 18 and would be rapt to get into a size 14 but it all depends on height and proportions! When I am comfortable with my weight and as long as people don't tell me I look scrawny - it won't matter what size I am - I am just so thankful to be able…

please pick me - I am after some motivation for the New Year!

I may go over as I don't have control of some of what I get to eat tomorrow - observing and eating what is provided at the Lodge here for dinner and supper but will record lunch and hopefully get onto to be able to log it tomorrow and will just do more walking to help counteract it - important not to go back into self…

me too - I just saw your posts and though was not sure how far 18 miles was in kilometres (18 * 8 /5) - seems to be about 29 kms so will it up to 30 - I don't think I have ever walked that far - town is 20kms away from here - work is 8km - so will be trying to walk from work to Town - now that is putting it into…

It was jsut after Christmas last year that I saw a photo of myself and decided to do something about it - I had a lot of starts and stops along the way on my own then I joined MFP in May I think and did not a lot for a while until I started finding people to share the journey with - the last 4 months have been great for me…

Even with all the weight I lost - my thighs are still 70 cm (27.5 inches) and my calves 50 cm (19.7 inches) and I have never been able to wear boots - I have to stretch my RM's across the top and they are just above the ankle! Bit depressing that my thigh measurements are more than some folks waist measurement…

I am in Coonabarabran in Central/North West NSW - would love to make contact with others around here! or others who live in a rural area with all its advantages and disadvantages

I know you how you feel - I been trying to run for a while and I do look funny I am the most uncoordinated person ever! - someone took a video of me in the City2Surf - awful but at least you are doing it and setting a good example to folks around you - inspirational unlike the example those parents are setting for their…

Geek/Nerd here also - love Dr Who - remember even before and after Tom Baker - bit older at 54 but have heaps to lose still. Love Sci-Fi - read Heinlein and Assimov. Other geek/nerd types can feel free to add me. We have all models of the TRS80 and still know how to play them - I even have and use a Reverse Polish Notation…
