I like making healthier versions of Tex-Mex burrito (minus the flour tortilla) bowls. Brown rice, black beans, a little bit of grated cheddar, all heated up and then topped with salsa or pico de gallo. Can also top with fat-free or lowfat sour cream (or creme fraiche or Greek yogurt) and/or avocado. DELISH. I also love…

When the emotion is anger or frustration, I have had wonderful success using boxing or shadowboxing to work through it. Now when I get upset, my first thought is "I want to punch something," when it used to be "I want nachos." Still working, however, on how to work through it when the emotion is fear or worry...

HUGE congratulations!!! What an amazing accomplishment! You look fantastic!

Wow, what an impressive transformation! I am particularly impressed by how fantastic your arms look -- gives me hope!

I agree that two weeks is two short to see physical change, but it's not too short to make progress on some behavioral changes/habits. So maybe your two-week goal could be something along the lines of "get off the bus one stop earlier and walk the rest of the way" or "eat at least one vegetable with every meal" or "reduce…

I really like this idea as a visual reminder of what I've accomplished -- far too often I focus on what I didn't do. I make jewelry in my spare time, so I have loads of beads lying around...thank you and best wishes for continued success!

I live in Europe, where the tables in restaurants tend to be very close together, making it hard to squeeze in between two tables to get to the sofa-side of the table (many tables are up against a wall with a sofa-like bench as one chair and a regular chair across from it). I couldn't fit through the tables in most cases,…

I am totally going to try this...didn't see it when you originally posted it, so I'm glad someone bumped it!

Misread this and thought it said "rum tracking devices." Never mind...

Sounds like a great and feasible plan! Happy to support you along the way as part of my FL!

It's by no means a necessity, but it's a tool that many people (including myself) have found extremely useful. Every Sunday afternoon I spend about an hour, usually right after I get home from the grocery, doing things like making a pot of beans, making a big batch of some sort of whole grain (quinoa, brown rice, farro,…

Not laughing at all -- cheering! What a great start! Congratulations and keep up the good work! And remember, even if you slip up one day, it doesn't ruin anything...just come right back to the path and try again. 2014 can be the year you truly transform your life!

Wow. One of the best before and afters I've ever seen. The new you looks like someone who was never even a few pounds overweight -- what an inspiration! Congratulations and best wishes for continued success!

I love the way you broke down your progress month by month like that -- very helpful for those of us who are still trying to get there. Congratulations on your many achievements and best wishes for continued success!

Holy moly!!! Thank you so much for sharing, you've given a lot of us hope! Congratulations on a job very well done!

Although I technically started with MFP long before January 2013, I didn't get serious about logging (and didn't exercise at all) until January 2013, at which point I changed pretty much everything about how I was living my life. I didn't believe that I would succeed, so I didn't set any goals in the beginning. Since then…

Thank you so much, SideSteel, Sara, and Steve!

I am! Joined the gym on 5 January and have lost 65 pounds since then.

This past January I was one of those New Year's resolutioners. (Resolutionists? Resolutionaries?) Long story short, it's eleven months and 65 pounds later and I'm still there. Be nice to us, as some of us do actually stick around! :flowerforyou:
