SCANDINAVIANS! and similars

Hey! I figured it made most sense to get some Scandinavian (or other people from that area - Like northern Germany, Nederlands etc.) friends, as our foods etc. are more similar - I'm seeing all these delicious recipe exchanges, made from things I can't buy here (I'm jealous of all the sugar free, fat free deserts they can get!) Plus, we'll have similar holidays, similar foods etc. to tempt us to go off our plan, similar bicycle/transportation habits etc. It will just make a lot more sense to compare!
So, please add me
I am a female 22yo food science technology student, living in Denmark (:

Lingonsylt in swedish. It's great on pancakes and porrige. Not as sweat as other jams. I think you should be able to get it in denmark?0 -

Ahh, yes, I looked it up now, we do have that, though me mostly use it with meat and stuff for Christmas. Kind of like berry chutneys0 -

I've tasted them, used to live in the US: I think they are alright - of course not the same as the real stuff, but I do tend to get a chocolate craving that could be stopped by any sort of vaguly chocolate-y desert :b0 -
My maternal grandparents were both from Sweden, and my paternal grandparents were Swedish and Norwegian. The cuisine is deeply entrenched my family, but we live in Minnesota. Does this count? Um, no lutefisk though.:noway:0

Oh this might be the place to ask this: do you guys log all the bikerides? It's what gets me around so I find it such a hassle to log all the rides to university and back.0

Of course! I commute to work by bike daily . I wore an HRM a couple of times to see what I was actually burning and it's about 250 calories for a 60min bikeride (oma fiets, je weet wel). I added my own exercise to the MFP database.0 -
I am from southern Germany, does that count?0

I log most of them - I know how far it is and I know how long it takes me, so I just add it by the end of the day. I don't usually log trips to the post office or grocery store though - Besides, I'll rather "risk" logging too little excersize, so I don't get a false idea of how much I can eat!0 -
rød grød uden fløde...
hils,
Haha :b0 -

rød grød uden fløde...
hils,

It' means like "Red porridge without cream", a famous Danish desert. The original is "red porridge with cream", and it's kind of a joke in Denmark because pretty much only locals can pronounce it0 -

Yes, but only b/c I have put my activity level as sedentary. If you'd put it as lightly active, I wouldn't count them. En waarom ik dit nou in het Engels typ...0 -

Have you ever been here? Can you easily get swedish food over there?
Lutfisk is disgusting. Only for chrismas. My parents like it but I know very few people my age who eats it. Yuck!!0 -

I've lived in the US for many years, and I'd say in the north, like Minnesota (where I'm born!), you can get a lot of the Scandinavian foods, though a lot of it tends to be a bit old fashioned - think Christmas dinner and grandmas cooking.
In the South (where I went to High School) - no such luck! I missed liquirce and sour dough rye bread so much! Sometimes I could get the sweet liqurice, but when I tried to explain I wanted those that taste like ammonia or ammonia chloride, people thought I was crazy, hah!0
