Perhaps not quite. Wouldn't the rounded "down" calories are offset by the rounded "up" calories, and probably average out in the long run?

Chewing gum in excess is frowned upon by dentists. They have to deal with the TMJ and other problems that come from overuse of jaw muscles. Just saying.

Yeah, me too, that's why I was so mad at myself. I really wasn't reading all the way down the label once I'd hit the "organic" part. :(

Sometimes people don't realize that their addiction is to the caffeine. Try switching to a caffeine-free soda, then to a sugar free (diet). Once you are off the caffeine and sugar, it will be easier to "break the habit(s).

That my husband rented a "baby beeper" when our son was due to be born, so I could call him and "beep" that baby was on the way. It was pre-cellphone.

Monday went well. I made chicken fried rice (from leftover brown rice and a roasted chicken), and remembered to MEASURE my portions. Now I need to start really working on patience. It took me months and months to get so heavy, and I need to remember that I'll need months to get it off. Funny how when I'm in my "I don't…

I do not eat beef or pork, nor do I eat beef or pork by-products like gelatin. ["Gelatin is a protein substance derived from collagen, a natural protein present in the tendons, ligaments, and tissues of mammals. It is produced by boiling the connective tissues, bones and skins of animals, usually cows and pigs."]. So, I…

Ah ha, even with the left-over dinner of the yummy favorite food, I've remembered that secret weapon of MEASURING PORTIONS! And, it helps if the smell of food cooking for hours is not filling the house with temptation. Left-overs don't present that "hours and hours" of gooooood smells. I feel back on track today. Ready for…

I think the OP's problem was that she's only gained 2 pounds, but the old pants do not fit anymore?

If you had success on WW, why not keep with it (even though there is a cost), and get back to losing weigh? During that time, you can start to use the food tracking on MFP, and see what your actual calorie count is. Using that info, if you decide later on to again drop WW, you'll at least be able to do a comparison on your…

No, denim does not shrink when it is just sitting in a drawer. Denim shrinks a tiny bit each time is is washed, and it shrinks even more when put in a dryer. 20 washes can add up to quite a bit. 20 dryer loads can make something that was snug shrink so that it does not even fit anymore.

Not to sound harsh, but I'd reevaluate if I wanted to marry someone who is either extremely manipulative, or, has an untreated mental health issue. If I were you, I'd take a big step back and cancel the engagement until he gets professional help for whichever problem he has. Good luck. And remember, you should think of…

I definitely log my fruits and veggies. Why? So that I have an accurate calorie count. For example, I have some delicious cubed fresh pineapple in the fridge. It is a delight to take a small serving (1 cup) for breakfast or as a snack. EXCEPT for the fact that each cup is about 80 calories. Two servings a day is 160…

Yikes, what a bummer when you "do it right" but the scale says "hahaha". Today I made a recipe per my husband's request that is a favorite food of mine. Man it is soooo hard to resist eating favorite foods, or rather, hard to resist OVEREATING. I'll follow the above advice, keep going and fight on.

The question(s) might be better addressed in the Fitness & Exercise Forum. Meanwhile, if your in for 20 pounds, this is the place for that! :)

"To go" foods: Rice cakes Fruit & nut granola bars Pealed orange in ziplock baggie Left over air-popped popcorn in ziplock baggie Pealed hardboiled egg w/ salt & pepper in ziplock baggie

Arrrgh, today I went out to lunch and did remember to think about "what to order", but then I also made a full dinner, so I'm sure my calorie count is gona' be high today. I'm headed to log my food now, to see what the damage is. But, tomorrow is another day, and I'll be even more motivated to stay on track.…

IMHO, it makes sense that NO type of artificial sweetener is "good" for you (high concentrations of any chemical are to be suspected as unhealthy), and that would also be expanded to concentrations or extractions made from natural products such as stevia (because extracts are a way of having too much of a chemical, even…
-
I do not ever buy artificial sweeteners, although I do buy products that contain them (diet soda and sugar free coffee mixes). I did recently buy Stevia at a pharmacy as it was promoted as "natural" and supposedly tastier. Well, I hate it. It has an extremely sweetish aftertaste. Yuck.

I don't have to repeat my "reason" to myself ALL the time .... just whenever I want something stupid to eat like potato chips or cookies or ........ stuff. ;)

It sounds like you are getting (or rather, returning to) the positive attitude that you CAN keep up your previous good job. Well done! :)

So how did everyone do today? Have you identified any areas of food/diet that you can improve upon, and then offer up hints for the rest of us? I did well today, and am going to look for decaf flavored instant coffees, so that I can have a low-calorie "special drink" in the late evening. I've gotten the Maxwell House sugar…

A true friend will support any healthy lifestyle changes that someone else is making. A true friend will support someone who is trying to eat healthier, or stop smoking, or taking classes, or exercising, or investigating their spiritual self. So first off, I'd evaluate if that "friend" is truly a "friend" or not. [A…

"Eating out" is not the culprit. You can "eat out" and still eat healthy if you make wise choices. Take your own spritzer salad dressing along (its nearly calorie free, yet yummy flavors for both salad and veggies). Eliminate the cheese and mayo on foods (flavor instead with ketchup or mustard or other lower-fat…

Feeling guilty is going to make your journey unnecessarily harder, just accept the situation as it is, and work around problems the best you can. No biggie. Enjoy life.
-
Try to not stress on it. Unexpected things happen in life. Good and bad situations. When you have your meal, try to load up on salad and veggies and wise choices. Consider taking you own salad dressing (I use the Spritzer sprays), which add flavor without many calories. Unless you are dining in a fancy restaurant, nobody…

Thank you, I was just mentally working up a response and then I saw yours. We are ALL on some sort of "diet", whether it be a "healthy diet", or "unhealthy diet", or "vegetarian diet", or "calorie increasing diet" (ie my elderly parent), or "wheat free diet". Diet is related to what you eat: The kinds of food that a…

deleted, i'll try to correct my technical error and post again.

I sent you a friend request. I am new here also. Now I just need to figure out what to do with the "friends" I'm acquiring, how to make the best use of that option.

AliceMay, do not be discouraged by making some bad food choices in the past few days. Just refocus on your goal, and on using the tools you already have learned. And, most important, get back to your "good diet choices" right NOW, do NOT wait until tomorrow morning or next Monday or whatever. Put on the brakes right this…
