Huh? I've never heard that. It's calories in and calories out. Better calories are from whole foods, as opposed to processed foods. Perhaps she mis-spoke. Maybe you should ask her again just to clarify. Sounds odd to me. Good luck with your weight loss journey! ~Sheryl

Welcome! You will love it here! I've belonged to Sparkpeople for literally years. Myfitnesspal is much more personable and the food database is great. Good luck to you. ~Sheryl

I completely agree with you Deb. I've had mine for a about a month and a half. I park farther and just plain move more to make sure I'm going to hit my "steps" goal. For me, by far the best benefit is KNOWING how many calories I'm burning during my exercise sessions. In this case I truly think knowledge is power. I love my…

I recently tried Fage, both the 2% and 0% and they are very good with the right stuff mixed in. Alone, they taste like sour cream to me. BTW, I found Fage at Meijer and I'm in Michigan too. This morning I had it with some honey, walnuts and 1/2 a banana.... SOOO yummy!! ~S

I think it depends on your personal taste. I like enough to keep it moist... I'd say a couple tablespoons for me in a small can. Start small then add to taste. I forgot to say I also add sea salt, pepper and a bit of garlic salt.

I'm eating some now on my tuna. I put it in chunck light tuna with some chopped celery and onions... LOVE it! Sometimes I just eat it with a fork or on some toast... today it's dark pumpernickle. YUM!

**Bump** Just tried some Fage 2% and I think it tastes like sour cream. I'm sure with the right ingredients it will be very yummy. Unfortunately I'm at work so I may just have to add some splenda and work through it. I'm looking for YOUR favorite greek yogurt recipe... help a sista out... Thanks! ~S

I can park where ever I want and not worry about how far it is to walk. I LOVE this freedom, do you know how many spaces are in the back of parking lots??!??! :D ~S

How funny! I got a glimpse of those elusive collar bones you speak of just this morning. Yes, I too moved my head back and forth just to watch them peek out. ~S

I feel a bit differently... I do this for ME. I'm not concerned about what other people are thinking or feeling, I'm determined to make healthy changes for me. The bonus? My hubby sees my progress and is trying to exercise more and make healthier food choices. Good luck with your efforts! ~S

In addition to the carbs, fat and protein, I monitor my sodium and sugar. Sugar hasn't really been an issue for me so mostly I check out the sodium. Sodium highs and lows seem to correspond to my weight fluctuations (duh). So if I'm having a high sodium day, I can't be surprised to see the scale stay the same or go up. ~S

I exercise in the evenings. By the time I cool down from doing the elliptical, I'm about ready for bed. Good luck. I bet just changing up what you do in the evenings will help. Not sitting in front of the TV worked wonders for me. ~S

Yea for no more droopy drawers! Mine are making me crazy. :grumble: ~S

I cut up a couple of stalks of celery and take them to work. It's definitely crunchy and it wards off the munchies for me. Bonus? They are pracitaclly no calories. ~S

When I am using my elliptical I watch Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State or Myth Busters (weird, I know - but it works for me). Yesterday I discovered Christina Aguilera in concert and I DVR'd it. The first song is "Ain't No Other Man" which is my favorite song to workout to. It really gets me started on a high note. ~S

When I can't find restaurant nutritional info, I just pick it apart and put things in separately. Grilled chicken, the wrap, lettuce, tomato and the BBQ sauce. I usually try not to pick the lowest in calories just to make sure I'm covered. I really don't like it when places don't have the nutritional info on their website…

Good job Nikki! I just finished 50 minutes on the elliptical - 5.69 miles. Woot!

Great job!! Love your determination, keep it up!!

If it's a battle you absolutely can't win, then plan for it in your calories and eat a piece. Trust me, when you account for those calories it will not taste as good as you remember. Eat is slowly and really taste the pizza... after all that is what you are craving, right? At least this is how I handle it. For me, the next…

Welcome Pam! Sometimes the crazy time is the best time to start... keeps the stress at bay. You will love it here. ~S

Nice job Chris. Thanks for sharing you progress, I can't wait to see the final results. FYI the day 28 pic isnt' showing up for me in either slide show. ~Sheryl

You forgot to facter in the "magic dust"... man.

Thanks for the info. I will have to check it out. I'm interested in something that tracks the mileage on the elliptical... seems like it would be the key for how hard you are working out, yet none of the programs ask. ~Sheryl

Unless you are allergic to bee stings, then stay away from the stuff. I had a friend who tried it in the 80's... blew up like a balloon, he is allergic to bee stings and taking that stuff is just like getting stung... at least for him. ~Sheryl

How does it track you on the elliptical? I was using Endomondo when the weather was nice enough to walk. I will have to check out this app and see how it compares. Always love app tips... thanks. ~Sheryl

You look awesome. It's wonderful to finally put a face to one of my MFP friends... Congrats!! ~S
