I have tried running but I always get the dreaded shin splints. I have come to the conclusion that I really don't like running because it induces pain for me. If I am not being chased then why bother. I am just not a born runner. I do love my bicycle and I have never had an issue with riding my mountain bike. Flat surfaces…

I was always thin. I thought I had a tape worm, After quitting smoking in my 30's my eating increased and my metabolism slowed a bit. After having my leg crushed in an accident my 5 5" 135 ballooned to 170. Yikes! Getting it together now and the scales numbers are slowly moving in the right direction.

Get a Heart Rate Monitor and a food scale. Find the Cardio exercise that you really like to do. Liquid Calories are sneaky and can wreck your calorie counting day. and I totally agree with "Don't sweat the small stuff" .... and it is ALL small stuff. If you cheat you cheat yourself.

I have been bicycling for my cardio. I have been losing inches off my quads and butt. I go up hills and really work my thigh muscles. I have noticed a significant difference in how my pants fit me. They are getting looser for sure. Just keep plugging away. It took about 3 months for me to really see the change.

All day you did things for other people and consumed your time in other things. Right now you need to do something for yourself.

I started out using just the Olympic bar (45 lbs) at 3 sets of 12. I am now benching 65 lbs and still working my way up.

At the beginning of the week I prepare a dozen hard boiled eggs. I take out the yokes and eat two for breakfast.. When I have time before work I make oatmeal and add cinnamon with some crushed almonds, walnuts and raisins.
