Running outside on pavement is harder than inside on a treadmill. When you run outside you are exposed to head winds, small inclines and harder surfaces. You'll become a stronger runner by running outside. You no longer have the treadmill belt to propel you forward, all the effort is coming from you. I love my foam roller…

Congrats on your weight loss and for making the decision to get healthy! When I first started my friends and family weren't outright negative but they were scepitcal. If I were you, I'd talk to your supportive friend more often than the people in your life who are being negative. Just think how good it will feel to tell…

This thread makes me feel better. This is something I struggle with too and it feels good to know I'm not alone. Love the advice to have something planned for when you get home that will satisfy a craving but that's not super terrible for you.

That's a really good question and I wonder what the answer is. I start my HRM when I begin warming up and stop after cool down but before I stretch. I keep it going if I do crunches/planks before stretching. I count all of the calories as exercise calories burned.

My blood pressure went up into the pre-hypertensive range. I was 26 but I felt much older. Made an appointment with a nutritionist the next day.

I don't see the way I look now in the mirror, I have to see a picture of myself. When I look in the mirror, especially the full length one in my bedroom, I still see the old me. But then I see a picture and I barely recognize myself. You're head will catch up to your new body, it's just going to take some time

I resisted buying new clothes for as long as I could because I knew I had more to lose and I thought it would be a waste of money. Boy, was I wrong!! The feeling of fitting into smaller sizes and seeing something totally different when I looked in the mirror was priceless. Get your current jeans taken in but go out and buy…

Hi! I'm 5'6'' and have lost 70 pounds so far and am looking to lose another 50, maybe more. I started out making modifications to my diet and then started adding exercise. Now I spin twice a week and just finished the c25k program. For me it's always been about balance and moderation. I try to be really good during the…
