Hey there! I am basically in the same boat. I started at 203 pounds. Went on Weight Watchers and after six months I only lost 11 pounds. Last weekend I quit weight watchers and came here and I am hoping to see a difference!
My ultimate goal weight is 140, but my goal by June 17th (my birthday) is 175. I think it's doable. I'd like to be down to 160 by my sisters wedding in September.
My ultimate plan for doing this is to do Turbo Jam. I've heard it's an amazing program and people seem to see excellent results doing it. I also go to yoga at least once a week, not even just for the great workout, but for the mental cleanse. I wish you the best of luck on your journey and please feel free to add me. Seems that we have very similar goals!0 -
You can see my then/now pic in my avatar. I, too, am working toward 150 and perhaps a little lower....I'll see when I get to 150. I started out at 1200 calories and have upped to 1250. I plan on upping to 1300 at the end of April. I had figured to make my goal by my first anniversary (May 18th) but that's not going to happen. That's ok, though....I am still losing and that's the bottom line.
I use my stationary bike at home and the treadmill and weight machines at the gym. I exercise 3 times a week.0 -

Hi,
I'm 5'6" with just over 100 lbs to lose. Been here since January 9th, and have lost 18 lbs as of this week. Pretty happy with results so far. My diary is open and I'm open to new MFP friends.

Hi! I'm 5'7 I've lost 122 pounds in 16 months. I eat almost 95% clean. No processed junk.
When I started I exercised in the morning and after work for for a total of about 2 - 2.5 hours. Now I still work out in the a.m. and then walk my lunch break. My husband and I only eat out once a week no matter what it's on Friday the rest of the times meals are planned out. I would like to be ultimately at 135-140 when I'm done.
Feel free to add me if would like.0 -
I'm 5,6" and my goal has been about 70 pounds, of which I've lost 45 so far. I started at 217 and currently weigh 172
I've eaten 1600-1800 per day plus exercise calories throughout.
Edited to add: I work out 5-6 days a week usually for about 30-40 minutes each time. Three days strength training, three days cardio is always my goal. If I must sacrifice something, I try to make it cardio even though I love it.

Hi there, I'm 5'7 so pretty close to 5'6! I started at 202 about a year ago and now am 151, my original goal was 150, but I've lowered it to 145ish, mostly I don't really care about what the scale says, I am more focused on being happy when I look in the mirror.
I started off eating 1200 and eating back my exercise calories, but realistically that is just too low for someone of our height. I started reading the forums here more and I found out about BMR and TDEE and I started to raise my calories and stop entering my exercise on here. I found that worked a lot better, I had way more energy, stopped being light headed and dizzy and was just happier all around and I was still losing weight. It didn't really take me the full year to loose the 50lbs, but I just entered my freshman year of college so I got less strict about counting everything. I believe that since August I have lost 7-8 lbs, but I know that once you get closer to your goal the weight comes off much slower so I don't really mind!
My workouts started off as just an elliptical I had at home, then I did the 30 day shred, then I got into running with C25k and various other cardio. My goal right now is to do more strength training to tone!0 -
Hi! I'm 5'6'' and have lost 70 pounds so far and am looking to lose another 50, maybe more. I started out making modifications to my diet and then started adding exercise. Now I spin twice a week and just finished the c25k program. For me it's always been about balance and moderation. I try to be really good during the week and allow myself to indulge a little on the weekends. Feel free to add me!0
