That should be easy. Even though you are currently living at your parent's house, treat yourself as a guest there. A guest wouldn't just help themselves. If you didn't buy the snack, don't eat it! After all, it isn't "yours". This mindset has helped me many times. Of course it works better if you have a substitute. Maybe…

I crochet. It is very incompatible with eating. Get a couple skeins of yarn, and a size g or h hook and start. Youtube can provide instructions. It wasn't long before I realized that I needed an outlet for all my crocheted items so began making hats and scarves for our church to distribute. Soon people were giving me yarn…

Look into your local library for some exercise DVD's. Walk away the pounds are good, as are some of the targeted chair exercises for older people. They start you soft but soon you will have enough strength to move into something more strenuous. Walking is good. Range of motion (slowly) are also good. Start slow and add a…

The most important is to buy a food scale and use it. Caloric counts per serving is listed on most packaged foods. I typically use the grams amount as it is easier for me. then, as the other poster said, the site will do the rest. To get started make sure you stick with foods with known calorie counts.

Go take a walk. By the time you come back, you probably are not hungry anymore. If you are, you have earned the extra calories for your snack.

OK, take a look at the food available. Doritos? Find out what an actual serving size is and log and eat that. Too much bread of any kind will make you gain weight. again, find out serving size (2 slices) log it and eat along with the meat of your choice. It is all about taking control, not depriving yourself. If they have…

I love my crockpots. I have 4 of them all different sizes, Couple that with a rice cooker and you should be good to go. The biggest thing is still to weigh your foods so you only get a serving size and can log accurately. This site has good tools for that and even lets you put your recipes in. You could also spend an…

I don't have cheat days. I have days that I choose to eat more than others. It took me a long time to get out of the guilty feelings around "cheat days". I have also figured out that if I choose to eat more I will hinder my progress. It is the nature of the beast. Cal in > cal out = no weight loss.
-
The operative word is IF. Reality is not every day is like today. Don't get upset if it isn't accurate for you but you should be seeing a downward trend.

If you are taking 2 sugars for each cup, that is approx 160 cal of sugar per day assuming your sugars are prepackaged at 1 teaspoon. If you are taking a teaspoon to the sugar bowl, your cal count could be much higher as we all tend to heap our teaspoons. I can think of better ways to spend the cals that might help you be…

If you make it at home, you can forego the deep frying, and have all the taste with fewer calories. I also have been buying café steamers Gen. Tso and really enjoy for under 300 cal. If you are headed out, Eat half the chicken, 1/2 cup rice, the egg roll and take the rest home for tomorrow. Enjoy! The salt will take a…

Or you could go out and exercise half of them off. In either case, move on and realize you set your goals back a few days.

OK, Here was Breakfast. The pancake mix makes a very fluffy omelet. The Bread was actually made in a bakery by my sister and I know she spares nothing when it comes to ingredients so 316 C sounded reasonable. I probably put more than 1tbsp of margarine on so I should go back and add those in. I did use PAM cooking spray on…

for me it is more than 1 hour of walking to negate the effects of that 300 calorie candy bar. In most cases I say it simply is not worth it and move on. But then again, If I have the calories, I might splurge. ;-)

Yahooo! Way to go.

I do slice and weigh the apples after the core is gone. The 300 g apple is by no means the largest apple out there. I quit buying from one store because their apples were closer to a pound. (454 g) Yikes! Most of the ones I have been weighing lately are average size and come in at 250-300 g without the core. It really has…

Sometimes that happens. At least you had a good excuse for breaking your streak. Mine broke cuz I plain forgot. :-( Hope you are feeling better today.

My goals for April* Keep Logging daily * walk at least 1 mile a day * get back on my horse and ride!

I eat on the road also. Driving between jobs actually. What I have found is I pack a sandwich. I like flat breads at 100 cal, then 2 slices of cheese, 2 slices of roasted turkey. And I nibble. Make it last a long time. Then I get into my half cucumber that I sliced that morning. Again, I nibble at the slices, they are not…

Sounds like you are looking for excuses. There really is no easy fix. This isn't and can't be a diet that you "go off" when you reach goal or as you found, the weight starts to creep back on. If a gym will motivate you, then go to a gym. If you find that the it is "too inconvenient" to get there, it will be money wasted.…

I tried several names and they were all taken when I signed up, so just call me namelesshere.

If you don't eat it, it does fall further down your list of foods so eventually you will not see it.

I would avoid the surgery if at all possible. Too many complications and risks. Though they claim it is rare, I have had a friend die on the table. If you are able to lose the weight without it, that is the way I would go. My doctor suggested it for me, and I asked him what is the success rate of keeping it off. He said…

There are several books on exercises for the equestrian. The Rider's Fitness Program: 74 Exercises & 18 Workouts Specifically Designed for the Equestrian is very good. Yes they will take time but they will add to your strengthening. If you ride in an English style saddle, may I suggest you try the Western Discipline. A 40…

So your horses are not exercise? Do you not ride, muck stalls, lift haybales or feed sacks. Not sure what type of horses you have but even mounting and dismounting is exercise. Maybe do it a few more times while you are there. From the off side too so you work both your sides (and your horse's) equally. If you don't lift…

It is hard breaking the habit of sweets. I have started to make sure I know the caloric count before I eat. Then I need to know how much exercise it will take to counter act that. I would love to say I jump on the tread until I have the calories worked out before I eat the treat but rarely does that happen. Still, I make…

Eat less and look into chair exercises you can do while you recover, with your doctor's blessing of course.

If you have the calories, munch on some peanuts. A few go along way to staving off the hunger. As others have said, EAT. I am a muncher, so I pack my lunch with the allowed calories that allows me to munch. When it is gone, it is gone. LOL! But, I know that a sliced apple, sliced cucumber, grapefruit, boiled egg, and a few…

It will definitely slow your weight loss so you need to decide which you want. Weight loss or the extra calories. And yes, tracking is essential.

A long time ago I tried some diet pills, diet candies, etc. I could feel my heart race so immediately stopped taking them and tossed the remainder. Never again.
