Sorry man. Gout sucks. I started getting gout attacks a couple years ago, and recently they got more frequent so I made some big changes to try to get rid of it. You definitely should read the relevant info on foods to avoid, but I think you'll find that some are more important than others - and which those are varies by…

I'd think your best bet is something with a lot of nuts, like a Payday (if those aren't available in your country, I'm sure there's something else that's chock full of nuts).

I just buy cheap headphones and keep an extra pair on hand.

Assuming you have a food scale, you could weigh the oil you pour off, each gram is about 9 calories, and subtract that from the total calories of the container.

6/1 - Nada 6/2 - 0:40 bowling 6/3 - Zilch 6/4 - 0:20 Kettlebells 6/5 - Nuthin' 23:00 to go. Not a good start... I need to get working.

If it doesn't smell or taste bad, it's fine. (btw this applies to almost every food that "expires")

I'm in. 6/1 - Nada 6/2 - 0:40 bowling 23:20 to go.

Eating the same thing every day will not stall your weight loss. However, you need to make extra sure you're getting all the vitamins and minerals you need from your diet, since you don't have the insurance a wide variety of foods affords.

"Research shows that consuming salt triggers the release of dopamine, the neurotransmitter associated with the brain's pleasure center, making salty foods as addictive as nicotine and alcohol. Therefore, as with any addiction, eating salty foods makes you crave more. Since so many salty foods--like potato chips, French…

I couldn't find the legal definition of the term, even on the FDA's site, which is odd. If you really want to know I'd contact them at consumer@fda.gov

First off, a slice is not a standard unit of measure, so this may be comparing apples and oranges. Even if we assume the same weight, what I'm seeing is the opportunity to pay more for a food I like less, just to save a few calories. Like tigersword said, these differences are so small it doesn't matter unless you're…

My philosophy has been to make it as easy on myself as possible. I try to stay under the calorie limit MFP set for me, and that's it. I don't worry about macros or sodium or sugar or eating "clean". I eat a decent source of protein in every meal, not because I'm trying to hit some magic number, but because a meal generally…

Adding a few teaspoons of sugar doesn't add many calories, and dramatically improves the taste. Frozen blueberries are also good, though I still like to add a little sugar, as blueberries really aren't that sweet. Raisins are really good too, but the calories add up fast.

Well of course they are - probably 80% of the people on the site fall into at least one of those categories.

There are really only two options: 1 - He is losing fat, but is retaining a lot of water for some reason. This seems unlikely as most people drop a lot of water weight immediately upon starting a diet. 2 - He is eating a lot more than you think. Forget starvation mode, the reason a man his size cannot lose on 1200 calories…

To burn more just walk faster and/or walk longer.

Exhaustion tests after week two Squats: 54 Sit-ups: 85 Knee Push-ups: 17 Looks like I'll be in column 3 for squats and sit-ups. I've dropped down to column 1 for push-ups though. Totals up to this point: Squats: 575 Sit-ups: 550 Knee Push-ups: 264

Congrats man! That's quite a transformation. I started at just over what you started at, and we actually used to look quite a bit alike, so your after pic is a really good motivator.

I know it sucks. If you have a lot to lose, even a big change on the scale can be hard to see. Remember though that you see yourself every day, so it can be hard to notice the changes.

Everyone loses weight on such a restricted diet, while they remain on it. Very few are able to reach their goal and maintain their loss with such a plan, as it is too restrictive to last long term. Perhaps you will be the exception, but probably not.

If you can be honest with yourself estimating is fine. Sometimes you'll be a little over, sometimes a little under, and it'll balance out. Many people have trouble with this though, and underestimate their calories consistently. I myself don't understand this, because fudging what you log doesn't change what you put in…

Just Heinz ketchup. Red Gold is an abomination.

Just because it doesn't jiggle doesn't mean it isn't fat. It sounds like you are describing visceral (aka abdominal fat), which is under, not on top of the muscle. It may be that the contraceptive hormones cause you to deposit your excess fat there instead of elsewhere, but it should still shrink as you lose weight.

You are going through caffeine withdrawal - there is nothing else in Diet Pepsi that would cause a negative reaction by stopping its usage. 2 liters of Diet Pepsi has about 200mg of caffeine, while your replacement, two cups of green tea, only has about 50mg (this can vary a lot though). If you just want to get rid of…

I'd go with the body weight exercises. 2 liters of water only weighs about 4 pounds.

The only one who can really answer that is you - do what you have to do to feel safe. I walk at night without worry, but I'm a big guy, so our concerns are understandably different.
