I've been wanting to try eating clean too but I am clueless about where to start. I think I will just start out slowly and work my way into it.

Awesome job!

I was successful with WW when I tried it. With me, however, it was more difficult tracking points than it is to track calories. I hated having to use my WW calculator to figure out the point value of the foods I was eating. But, WW works for some people. Just not me. As far as MFP, I think the community on here is GREAT!…

That number sounds too high. You really need to see a physician. You don't want to cause permanent damage.

I absolutely LOVE insanity. It's terribly hard but well worth it!

I agree. I think those 3 pounds were water weight because you probably had too much sodium. Don't stress over it! They will come back off.

MFP numbers are too high. When I compared the number MFP gave me to the number on my heart rate monitor, I noticed I was burning approximately 1/2 amount of calories that MFP was saying I was burning. So, if you only use MFP to calculate your calories burn, I would cut it in half.

Oh my goodness! You guys are an inspiration! This has made me 100% dedicated to hitting a huge number. The longest streak I have ever been at is around 150 days. Totally inspiring to know that you guys are hitting close to the 3 year mark without missing a day!

I bought it because I heard it was an appetite suppressant. And for me, it worked on that aspect. I wasn't hungry as often and I managed to lose weight (not from the pill but because I wasn't eating as much). However, I had to drink so much water while taking the pill that I would get up 2-3 times in the middle of the…

This all sounds very interesting. Until I read this post, I had never heard of this before. Maybe I have been stuck in a hole....But I plan on doing more research after reading this. Thanks!

I agree with everyone else. Don't stress over one day. Dieting/exercising should become a LIFESTYLE. One day is nothing when compaired to a lifetime.

Insanity worked for me a few years ago. I found it pretty easy to stick to the diet plan and the workouts. Don't get me wrong. The workouts were INTENSE to say the least. But I really enjoyed them. I have never tried Zumba so I don't know how that would work. I'm thinking about trying Zumba for a while just to see how my…

I was taking in way too much sodium also and most of mine came from TV dinners and lunch meats. I was shocked when I saw how much sodium was in those things! As for adding salt to my food, I don't even buy salt. I'm fine with how things taste without it. But if you need the salt to enjoy your food, just watch what foods…

For me personally, I do not enjoy juicing because I don't feel full by drinking my calories. But, for people who do not get the recommended daily amount of fruits and veggies, this is absolutely the way to go. I rarely eat the right amount of veggies so I find that juicing some veggies and fruit together to make a smoothie…

I think you're good as long as you stay around 1-2 pounds a week of weight loss. Of course it is going to be more in the beginning because you have so much water weight that is coming off. After that first initial week or two you should level off to around 1-2 pound a week.

Before I got my HRM, I thought "Wow, I'm burning a lot of calories doing exercises" because MFP was saying I burned A LOT of calories. Once I started using my HRM, I was actually only burning about 1/2 of what MFP was saying. So, I do not trust what MFP says about how many calories certain exercises burn off. For me, I…

I think this post shows that everyone is different. For some people, eating the calories back DOES work. For some people, it DOES NOT work. For some people, eating back half of the calories DOES work. It just depends on each individual person. Do what works for you. If you are steadily losing weight by NOT adding back the…

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely LOVE using myfitnesspal but it overestimates how many calories you burn for activities. Before I got my heart rate monitor, I thought "Wow, I'm burning a lot of calories." Once I got my HRM, I noticed that I was only burning about half the amount of calories that MFP was saying I burned.…

As far as calories and calories alone, fast food works just as good as celery as long as you don't exceed your calories for the day. However, as far as everything else is considered, fast food is not the way to go on a regular basis. Sure, just about everyone eats fast food every now and then. Consistency is always key!

I agree with the above! Hard work is the way to go!

I agree with what most people already posted. Set a number (say 160) and when you get there, reevaluate your situation. If you are happy with where you are, that's great. If not, set another goal of losing another 10-15 pounds. But I also think you need to worry less about what the number on the scale says and judge your…

Here's what works for me: I fast for a few reasons. (1) Sometimes I get so caught up in life that I feel like I have ZERO control. So, in order to prove to myself that I do have some control, I will fast for 1 day and 1 day only. It takes a lot of mental control to do this, even for just one day. When I succeed, I feel so…

I am starting back today! I fell off the wagon and gained all the weight I had lost (roughly 45 pounds) and gained about 20 extra. I really need support to stay on track. Feel free to add me!

Insanity is awesome! Great workout!
