I have a smoothie every morning to get some greens in as I'm a big veggie hater. Usually it's spinach, avocado, chia seeds & unflavoured whey protein with a scoop of leans greens.

Well done!!!!

So far, so good. 3 full days completed. Stuck to my calorie limit. Slowly getting used to substituting carbs for other things & upping my fats. Completed 2 days of 12hr shifts at the hospital without touching a single sweetie

So day one is finished and it's been a good one. Evidently I have room for improvement when it comes to choosing low carb. But this is something I'm very new too. I had a great lifting session at the gym. Came in just below my 1650 daily calorie goal & am currently sitting on my sofa watching Mad Max feeling pleased with…

Well since I turned 40 yesterday & today is the first day of my LCHF journey, this challenge couldn't have come at a more perfect time! So November goals. * Stick to my new LCHF diet keeping carbs as low as I can. * Stay under my 1650 daily calorie goal. * Exercise at least 3 days a week. Either running, lifting weights,…

Many thanks guys. Much appreciated.

What's the difference between Vivoactive & Vivoactive HR?

Thanks for the replies. I did suspect that weight training would be hard to record. So primarily it would be for running & cycling. Garmin is the one I've heard spoken about the most.

Thank you @quiksylver296

It's a yearly thing @jtcedinburgh

I hope you get answers cos I'm the same! I feel constantly hungry! I found a quark type protein yogurt yesterday which is really thick & filling. I had one today as a post workout snack & it did see me through the afternoon. But it's currently 8.30pm & I'm considering going to bed as I'm so hungry now & bad snacks are…

@jtcedinburgh You can register on the day I believe.

I feel the same way. I was alone in my marriage for 10yrs. It was awful & I was utterly miserable. I left my husband almost 2yrs ago after finally deciding I deserved to be happy & it was the best desicion I've ever made. I'm single & happy now & I will never settle for mediocre again! I deserve to be utterly in love with…

Thank you! I spoke to my PT today who is also a very good friend & he agreed with all of you. He said that I should be understanding of their worries, explain why it's important to me to be fit & active & how important my goals are, & go ahead & achieve them with the support of my friends if my folks are still reluctant.…

That's what I did last night. When my mum said my plan to climb Kilimanjaro was idiotic I just said I was too tired after a long work day to argue, got my daughter organised & we left.

Thanks guys. It's great to get everyone's points of view. I appreciate all your inputs. X

I think a conversation like you suggest is definitely on the cards sooner rather than later. I just wish they wouldn't be so nasty when they are poo pooing my dreams!! Kilimanjaro is a once in a lifetime thing & at this rate it'll be ruined by their attitude. I'm afraid after nearly 40yrs on this earth, their opinions…

I usually work while my daughter is with my ex but once a week they do collect her from school & keep her until I finish work at 7.30pm. I'm a nurse & I work 2 12.5hr shifts & 1 10hr shift a week. I try to plan most things when she's at her dads but it doesn't always work out that way so I guess part of it could be that…

I'm doing the 22 day challenge. Day 16 for me. It's great! I'm making progress and can now do a few full push ups on my toes where when I started I could only do them 3/4 on my knees. I intend to carry them on after the challenge.

The only way to lose belly fat I'm afraid is to persevere with a healthy diet & calorie deficit.
-
It's just time, consistency, being accurate with your logging & patience I'm afraid. Think of it as your way of life. Not reaching a goal weight. I find that helps me to not become demoralised.
-
Why not try something completely different? I really hate running so I tried boxing! It's great. The training is really fun. Skipping, footwork, sparring. Brilliant cardio & not at all monotonous.
-
Of course! I use PhD diet whey. I buy it from Amazon as it's much cheaper. Their mint choc chip is also delicious :)
-
I'd definitely advise getting some professional training. Learning the basics is key & you really don't want to hurt yourself if you're not sure of what you're doing.
-
I add protein powder into my morning porridge. Gives a delicious vanilla flavour & with berries added in its a lovely sweet treat. I also do the same with yogurts or add a scoop to smoothies :)
