I became hypothyroid during pregnancy. I gained A TON of weight & the problem wasn’t discovered until 6 months after I’d given birth. I was tracking & weighing accurately & walking miles every day but stayed the same for months until I finally went to the doc with symptoms of extreme tiredness etc. As soon as I began…

I have done a couple of spur of the moment 50 mile cycles with no training. It was tough but I managed it & im not super fit or anything. Took me just under 4hrs both times. This year however, I’m going to actually train so it’s a much more pleasant experience. I aim to just get time in the saddle, gradually increase…

I bought a gel seat cover for my bike. Huge difference!

Thank you. That's helpful. Much appreciated.

I did but I was very stupid after mine ☹️ I have a very high pain threshold & 6wks after my hip arthroscopy I felt so good that I ran Tough Mudder and then did a bungee jump a month later. Total idiot. 2yrs later my hip is totally wrecked and I can no longer run at all. I'm having tons of physio & acupuncture to relieve…

I feel your pain! I did Nevis last year & it took a week for my calves to return to normal. Agony! I just tried to stretch them out gently several times a day. It was horrible but I definitely didn't exercise for a good few days after the climb.

10 years since I began eating healthily & living an active lifestyle. I've had ups & downs as everyone does but I'm so much fitter now at 40 than I ever was in the years before I had my daughter

I have to walk my border collie 5 miles to wear her out & shes 13! I'd suggest increasing the distance you are walking & perhaps add in some running intervals for part of the walk. 30 secs running, 30 secs walking for recovery.

Well done! Not sure you really need a snack afterwards unless you are hungry. Maybe just some fruit?

Thanks for all the responses. I get it in both feet tho my right is always the first to go and takes much longer for the feeling to return. I'll try out some of your suggestions.

Yes I had the bike fitted at the shop. I've just been wearing my standard running trainers. They are not clip in pedals tho I was thinking of buying some and the corresponding shoes

I've done 2 here in Scotland. The first when I was relatively unfit. Did them as part of a team my PT took both times. Great fun. Terrified at times but so proud of myself for completing all the obstacles. Definitely a challenge but you feel great at the end. Real sense of achievement. I'm missing out this year because I'm…

I make some with 40g oats, 200ml almond milk, scoop of chocolate whey protein & a banana. Sorry no stats as depends on brands etc but lovely left in the fridge overnight. Add chia seeds for extra fibre.

Thank you all. Nice to have some different experiences.

I do it if I forget my squatting shoes. Works a treat for me.

I have access to an indoor trainer so will definitely use this, especially with the roads being icy just now. No, the route hasn't been made available yet tho I do know it'll be a mixture of flat & hilly. Not sure if it's out & back or circular either. Hoping to get that info soon. I can't practice on the route either when…

Thanks guys. I have strava for running so I'll utilise it for rides as well. I intend going to a cycle specialist to buy a bike so I'll make sure it's exactly right & fitted to me. I guess time in the saddle is what I need the most?

I'd do what makes you happy! You're much more likely to have success if you're doing something you enjoy!

I'd have a look on YouTube for beginners home work outs. There is so much stuff on there you're bound to find something that suits you! Good luck in your journey.

As soon as my daughter leaves for school I head to the gym for strength training. Then 3 days a week after school we both go for a little run. This is a new thing for us. I'm trying to encourage her to be more active. She's 10 yrs old.

Did an outdoor fitness class in winter time. Nose running like a tap the whole time with the cold. Came to stretching at the end and as I leaned forward into a stretch, a huge string of snot poured out of my nose! I sniffed it back up so quick & thought I'd gotten away with it til I looked up and the trainer & 3 classmates…

Just checked back into this thread. Thanks for all the input guys. It's been a few weeks now. I've decreased my carbs gradually so I'm now eating around 60g (I was up around 200g before) & ive increased my healthy fats. So far, so good! Feeling much more satiated, still enjoying my sweet potato & some berries & have lost…

Thanks guys. It's a pain in the back side :(

Thanks guys. Chucked the lot in the bin last night. Felt great to do so! Yesterday was a good day. Feel like I'm back on track again.

Made it through my 40th birthday party weekend. Drank a lot of wine. Was good with my food & amazingly had lost 1lb Monday morning. And the best part was come Monday, I was straight back on plan & didn't struggle to get back into it at all. So happy!
-
Still going well. Down another 1lb. Gym will have to wait until Monday now but still staying active. Birthday party tomorrow so the goal is not to go overboard on cake & alcohol.
-
First weigh in for me having just started eating LCHF. Down 5lbs! Very pleased! No sugar cravings, feeling full most of the time & no sore belly & bloating. Last day off before 2 12hr shifts at the hospital. Spending this evening meal prepping so I don't mess up at work.

End of day 6 and I've hit all my goals  Been to the gym 3 days plus a powerlifting workshop. I've stuck to my calorie limit & kept my carbs low. I've only been tempted for a millisecond to steal a sweet off my daughter but it passed without me really having to talk myself out of it. Weigh in is tomorrow so fingers…
