Alta HR - questions.
Just got my first ever Fitbit yesterday. An Alta HR. When I charged it up it already had a calorie burn of 1200 on it but no steps or distance obviously. Overnight it's logged me over 150 steps while I've been asleep and a 500 calorie burn. Is that amount of calories accurate for a person asleep for 7hrs? I presume it…

Fitbits. Are they accurate?
Thinking of getting a Fitbit to monitor calorie burn, sleep patterns etc. Are they accurate? Which models do you recommend? Thanks in advance.

Cycling - numb toes.
After about 45 mins in the saddle my toes go numb! Anyway I can stop this from happening as it becomes really uncomfortable after a while and it takes a long time for the feeling to return after I'm finished. Thanks.

Turmeric
I've been reading up on the properties of Turmeric & the good things it can do for us. Does anyone take it and can vouch for these claims? I suffer from an autoimmune condition & am hoping it can help with my joint pain.

Cycling time trial. Help!
My dad was a competitive cyclist in his 20's. He's now in his mid 70's & took up cycling again as a hobby last year. He's decided on a whim to enter us both in a 20km time trial at the end of April. I've never done anything like this before. In fact at the moment all I have is a mountain bike so I need to get myself sorted…

What has happened to my diary??? Anyone else having issues?
The past week or so my diary is messed up. My regular food choices have vanished. I have the same meals a lot and usually when I enter my foods they pop up straight away because I've usually had them the day before. Now they're no longer there & when I search for them I can't find them. I'm in Scotland so use grams and all…

Ugh. Let it slip.
Was going great guns for the first 10 days doing LCHF. Lost 6lbs before my 40th birthday party on Saturday & was feeling positive. Obviously had a few drinks Saturday night but was good with food. Had no cake or sweets at all. Stuck to good food choices. Straight back on the wagon on Sunday. Then for some stupid reason on…

High fat, low carb. Anyone do this?
I'm thinking of changing the way I eat to be more high fat & lower carbs. I've been reading a lot about the need to eat fat to burn fat & think I might give it a try. I've always been discouraged from eating fat (weight watchers mindset I guess) but I'm finding eating low fat & higher carb I'm basically hungry all the time…

Opinions on HR Monitors please!
It's my birthday soon (40th) & my work mates want to club together & get me something decent. I've never had a HR monitor before. In fact I don't even know if I'm calling it the right thing. But, I want something to measure calories burnt, distance covered, time etc for when I'm out hillwalking, biking & running. I also…

Stronglifts 5x5 Chuffed with my progress :)
I'm super happy today! Yesterday before I started my shoulder press I said to my mate that there's no way I'd get 5x5 at 25kg & then I went & nailed it!! Today ( I know I should've had a day off but can't get back to the gym til Tuesday so thought it better to go today than wait ) I felt the same way about my 37.5kg bench…

Lack of support from family.
How do you deal with this? A bit of background. I was always active as a teenager & in my early 20's. Had horses, rode competitively etc. Got married and gained a bit of weight & then got pregnant at 30 & gained a ton due to developing an autoimmune condition & becoming depressed after the birth. Fast forward nearly 10yrs…

I don't understand!
When I first started I entered my weight at 206lbs. I've messed about for ages but this past week have tried really hard and have lost 11lbs. When I entered my weight, it said congratulations you have lost more than 10lbs since your last weigh in and we suggest you reset your goals. So I did that and now my weight loss…

Can I decide my calories??
I want to set my own calorie goal. Is there a way for me to do this? I feel 1220 is way too low and would rather it were higher. I'm eating about 1500 a day but I don't want it to look bad on my diary with all the red minuses!

Deleted as just read about how annoying new posters are and don't want to be slated for not using the search function!
