  • I had a severe sprain and was able to swim, do you think that is an option for you?
  • I am constantly in awe of folks who have trouble eating all their calories! Wanna share? Serioiusly the previous poster offered a great suggestion for post workout protein shakes. :drinker:
  • Absolutely! It is not because I feel bad about how I look or want to avoid the food and drink, it is mostly becuase I am in the zone and want to stay in it. It is all about me except when I am at work. And I do drink wine a couple times a week with dinner at home and sometimes out, every couple of weeks I surface. lol..
  • Yours is an inspiring story!!!
  • I use a HRM, a ,Polar ft7, to track calories burned during my workouts. if you want something to read other data i.e. sleep, a trainer recommended the BodyMedia to me. I agree with a past poster that the FitBit seems like a glorified step counter, BUT if you are looking for something to motivate you to move that would be…
  • I have the polar ft7 and my calorie burn is less than half of what MFP says. I have also discovered that polar works with most of the lifeforce cardio equipment in my gym like the treadmill, eliptical and bikes so it reads your heart rate even if you are not holding the sensors. This is awesome!
  • Awesome! Nothing motivates like results!!!!
  • I have been on it while losing 38 pounds, it does not affect weight loss negatively and may help you lose due to controlled anxiety. gooe luck!

  • I use my heart rate monitor and in a 55 minute class I burn between 250 and 320 calories depending on the instructor. That being said the time of the work rated by the HRM as fat burning is much hiegher in zumba than other classes I take such as step where the majority of the time is conditioning.

  • I wish my stomach would shrink. I am hungry all the time unless I eat a lot of food, so right now . . . I am hungry. I think I was eating something every hour of the day today, but when I do that I can feel my metabolism working.
  • Wait 20 minutes and decide, you will decide not to.
  • for later :)
  • Good question. I also sit at a desk all day but for the rest of the time I am active.
  • I was a skinny, skinny kid. Puberty was not kind to me and I began gaining weight and spent my teenage years being just a bit chunky, nothing too serious. Gained up to 166 lbs after I got married at 17 but lost it all when I got divorced at 21 and was the lowest of my adult life at 120. At 28 I quit smoking and then got…
  • Today I ran/walked for 30 minutes on the treadmill at the gym, it reads my Polar FT7 which has a chest strap and the heart rate on the machine and on HRM were the same throughout, I also put my weight and age into the machine. The machine said I burned like 240, my HRM said I burned 172. I go with the HRM.
  • oh and I forgot to mention that my resting heart rate is around 50 sitting up and about 45 when lying down. My HRM does have a chest strap.
  • I have an FT7 and if I had it to do over I would go for the FT40 for the fit test feature. Something to think about.
  • I try to stick to my 1200 a day plus exercise calories and when I was using the calories from the database I was eating a lot more. since getting a HRM I found I am onlu burning half what the database said so I get to eat a lot less. That being said, without that I would be eating more than all the men. I am a hungry girl…
  • As far as if you should eat the calories back, are you hungry? If you question the amount I would not eat all the calories. I try to listen to my body, it will tell me if I need to eat more.
  • Doctor, stretch and I mean everything from the toe to the top of your head, never get out of bed before stretching, and see you doctor to ensure your diagnosis is correct.
  • Quads and calves, shoulders and arms not bad either, pretty amazing to me that you can see definition cuz there is still a lot of fat. I can't wait for the time when the body fat is lower and everyone can see the work I have been doing.
  • :flowerforyou: You must learn to forgive yourself and move on, every day if needed. It is a painful cycle . . . fall off wagon, feel guilty, fall further off wagon, feel even worse. Feel ashamed eat some more . . . I have done it all and it was not until I learned to forgive myself, be honest with myself and deal with the…
  • you just made my mouth water, I made cilantro lime shrimp and put it on a green salad, yours sounds so much better. lol.:flowerforyou:
  • I started at 231 at ww a year and a half ago, got stuck between 199 and 201 for the longest time, today was 194 after using this site for 3 weeks so I can't wait for the 180's. congratulations to you!
  • I am most definately afraid of success, unfortunately when it relates to weight loss I am used to failure and know what it looks like. So it is the fear of the uncharted that I am really afraid of, not the weight loss.
  • My goal is 1200. I add the exercise back in and I exercise a lot. lol. I have been over many days but still losing weight. I just started on this site about 3 weeks ago previously on WW. I just bought a HRM to track true calories burned and it is an adjustment :brokenheart: . The calories I was adding back in before were…
  • I love the question and all the inspiring answers. I exercise because it makes me feel powerful and in control and for all the other reasons stated above.
