  • It can depend on where you go and what you buy. Popular foods are more expensive because the sellers know they can sell high. See what they have for cheap and be inventive?
  • Could this be his misguided way of showing support? Men are odd like that.
  • Hey Bzmom I drink regular tea bags usually, tetley's or twinnings. I occasionally have green tea.
  • You have your tea black? I've never been able to manage this. I'm proud of myself for having 1 sweetener 1 sugar though, I used to have three sugars. not quite so healthy :D
  • I only use my wii- fit. I have a cheap set of scales but I never use them as they're usually inaccurate.
  • So how do we know what is or isn't sedentary? I work in an office all day. I'm sat at my desk for 9 hours. I come home and I play computer games and watch tv. It isn't the healthiest lifestyle but it's mine. I play table tennis every day mon-fri for at least 30 minutes and can often fit in a 30-45 minutes walk to and from…
  • I love this idea!
  • I got fat because I was given the wrong medication that put me into a coma like state where I would sleep for 14 hours and when I woke up I was ravenous and only ate for about a month. I then found that I had a spine condition and wasn't able to exercise at all. Add that to low self esteem and a lot of take out.... and…
  • This explains why I'm slimming down in other places by my belly refuses to budge. Damn.
  • I had a serious problem letting go when I first started making changes to my diet. I allowed myself one treat per fortnight. That was it, everything else was grilled chicken and salad. I've started letting treats sneak into my day because I think if you deprive yourself too much then it's not a lifestyle it's a punishment.…
  • I have a similar issue, I suffered from agoraphobia for a long time and public places like gyms and my own self conscious issues make me not want to go and get sweaty and jiggly in front of other people but there is more to exercise than the gym. I started out by walking to work. I walk 30-45 minutes per day now, Although…
  • Thanks for all the advice guys. Definitely something for me to think about and consider. I only joined the site the other day so I apologise if this is a common issue and I've missed an earlier thread.
  • Exactly aswieser! I walk about 30-40 minutes a day going to and from work and on 5 days of the week play 30 minutes of table tennis, so the exercise stacks up and on Friday I start aqua aerobics. So my calorie intake needs to go up then too. I'm having a banana everyday because they're higher in calories than other fruits…
  • Should I just persist then and try to get my body into a routine?
  • I've actually started snacking on grilled chicken because I'd rather take in protein than carbs or sugars where possible. Nuts I haven't tried so I might give them a go. I had beef Elizabeth, and I can't have ice cream sadly as I'm lactose intollerant. It isn't just about the calories of course. I can't just fill myself…
  • Thanks! I do find it odd to force myself to eat. I have other saying... never miss a meal, if you go below your calories then you go into starvation mode and I feel like I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. :ohwell:
  • I'm sat here trying to force in some green tea sorbet and worrying my wii fit is going to yell at me in the morning for being such a pig!
  • Welcome to the program. I'm new too. I think we just conquered the first and most important step. admitting we have a problem and then doing something about it. Good luck :D
