Melbourne here :)

My husband also has a lot of protein shakes as he doesn't get the protein from meat like I do. (though I do also have the protein shakes)
-
My husband is vegetarian and he eats a lot of mexican food - refried beans, cheese (we buy the vegetarian cheese without animal rennet). Pasta is good too though I know you are concerned about the amount of carbs you are eating. He follows up most meals with eating peanuts and almonds. He also eats a lot of chocolate :P I…

Was your doctor aware though that you wanted to lose more weight? If they already told you they thought you were underweight then I don't think they would be happy to know you were dieting :( We are just looking out for your health so please don't take this the wrong way. You should be eating a minimum of 1200 calories but…

I am 5ft 9 and my goal is 154 (possible a little lower). Is there a reason you want to lose more weight - it really doesn't sound healthy to be 128 let alone wanting to lose more. I would up your calories with nuts, beans.

I have actually started drinking more since I started my diet - lol. I have 1-2 glasses of red wine maybe 2-3 times a week. I have lost 4.3kg (approx 9.5 pounds) in 21 days. I find as long as I track al my calories I am still losing. I use it as a treat when I go out salsa dancing - I like to relax a little. I do find I…

Their food diary is open - don't think it is an accident.

1530 sounds correct. You need to eat more protein which will fill you up for longer. Cut back on sugar and fast foods. Eat more vegies.

Another 5 ft 9 woman here :) SW: 80.9 kg (approx 178) CW: 77.3kg (approx 170) GW: 70kg (approx 154) but may reassess when I get there and see how I look. Feel free to add me.

My calories are set at 1420 but I actually try to stick to 1200-1300 and I am not feeling hungry. If I am I eat more but I don't force it. I think my body will tell me if it is hungry :) We get into a habit of eating when we think we should instead of listening to the body.

The calculated calories for the day already has a deficit in in for you to lose weight. If you do exercise you are increasing this deficit. You can either eat these calories and lose weight slowly (at the amount you put in to lose a week) or you can just use it as an added bonus to lose weight quicker like I do.

It just bumps the post up to the most recent list so others see it :)

Your diary is not open so I can't see your food log. There is no issue eating after 8pm. I regularly eat after 10.30pm at night and I am losing weight. As long as you stay within your calories for the day it is fine. Starvation mode is a myth - if i am not hungry I don't eat. How many calories are you meant to have a day?

Realised my size 12 work pants are getting really loose around the waist and a workmate today commented that my stomach is looking flatter - yay :)

I am 5ft 9 and I never used to wear heels as I felt too tall. I finally got over that and just own the height now! :) I am lucky that my husband is 6ft 2 so even when I wear heels he is taller than me. The only problem is I do salsa dancing and a lot of the guys are shorter than me so it just means I get hit in the head a…

I have read a lot of different conflicting articles about this and as I rockclimb on an empty stomach I do need to refuel after I exercise. From my own personal experience (and from fellow rockclimbers) if we don't have the protein shakes we feel extremely tired the following day. It works for me so I am not going to stop…
-
No you don't need them as long as you are getting the correct amount of protein through your current food intake. As you are doing weight training you need protein to help your body recover after the sessions and you should consume it within 20 minutes after your workout. I do rockclimbing so I find protein shakes the…

You are gorgeous and I am sure you are going to look beautiful on your wedding day. Weddings are extremely stressful so don't beat yourself up about your choices the last few days. I put about 2 kgs on the two weeks leading up to my wedding. Once you are dressed up in your wedding dress with your hair and makeup done all…

The in-between time is the hardest as your clothes start hanging on you and not looking that great but you don't want to buy all new clothes to grow too thin for them again in a few months. What I do is go op shopping and buy temporary clothes just to get me through this period. I think if you find some clothes that fit…

Last year I had started doing a lot of weight work and within a period of 2 weeks I had 6 different friends ask me if I had lost weight even though my scales were going up and not down. After another couple of weeks my weight then dropped so just be patient and keep eating healthy and lifting those weights :)
-
Sounds like muscle to me. Don't get worried about the scales when you are noticing the difference in your clothing - this is a better indicator of your weight loss.
-
I regularly eat dinner at 10.30pm as I go rockclimbing straight after work and don't get home till late and still manage to lose weight. I don't really believe all the myths out there - as long as your calories are fine for the day there should not be an issue.

I had never been a skinny girl but was comfortable around size 12-14 (Australian Sizing). I gradually put on weight without realising it until I had to buy my first pair of size 18 pants. I had hit 98kgs (216 pounds) :( My mum had started WW and had lost a huge amount of weight. I started it myself at that point and over…

I got mad before as there is a thread called Nice Arms (under Fitness and Exercise) where there has been at least 2 guys comment that it is near impossible for a female to get biceps like this without taking steriods.... I recommend any of you ladies who have biceps like this or bigger please go and post them to prove them…
-
I love how a lot of the guys think it is not possible for us females to have arms like that without steriods.... sorry but that is absolute bullsh*t. I rockclimb 3 days a week and have nicely toned arms. I want to get bigger biceps but have had a shoulder injury so haven't been able to concentrate on weight training yet -…

The starvation mode myth has actually been disproved - it was something that Weight Watchers used to always tell their clients but had to turn around about a year ago I think to say it was not true. From a google search: A diet based on 1200 calories daily is the recommended minimum for safe and healthy weight loss. This…

Can you list what you ate - as a lot of previous people have said it may be what you are eating that is the issue. This way we could give you more specific advice. I only started dieting last week and I am trying to stick to about 1200-1300 calories (less than the 1440 they tell me) as I want to lose weight faster. I am…
