  • It COULD help. There are different types of Yoga. Find the one that fits your needs. And do standing shin stretches...they helped me when I started running and could barely walk the next day lol.
  • Wow. There was no reason to go there.
  • The biggest benefits I have seen from yoga are stronger arms and flexability. I usually run every other day alternated with yoga. If I miss a yoga session, my run suffers because the yoga works the kinks out of my muscles.
  • Set a goal that is different from your goal weight. Mine is to fit into my favorite pants. Has nothing to do with numbers, just size. Question...are you just dieting or are you exercising to reduce body fat and increase lean muscle? And if you must focus on numbers, focus on your body measurements.
  • I don't log daily things like dishes or folding laundry...however, when I do a major clean, I log it because: I stretch, I bend, I walk, I use muscle to scrub, etc...and I sweat. So I log it. I am on my feet with my job and I don't count that because it's normal daily activity...but for someone who is used to having very…
  • 'Till I collapse. Eminem ft. Nate Dogg...to get thru the last minutes of my run.
  • Since I started running, my calves are muscular and I have started showing them off...have gotten compliments on my legs and it feels great. Also lost the muffin tops puffing out over my waist band. Still trying to lose the belly...But not stopping until I do!!!
  • After supperr, before bed is when I get cravings a lot too. I have heard that eating after a certain time is bad, but I don't know if that is true or not. Save some calories for a snack at that time...and I have found that when I do my daily workout late in the evening after supper my food cravings go away and all I want…
  • Hi, Cindy...YOU ROCK!!! It's great that you and your husband are both in this together....it's much easier that way, plus you can motivate each other. Some tips...Find healthy foods you love so you don't need the cheeseburger. Replace junk food in your kitchen with healthy versions and find a couple different exercises…
  • Thanks...I never would have looked under cardio when they had a separate one for strength.
  • um...???? I eat many things I would never put in my eye. (oranges, lemons, well, actually I guess I wouldn't put ANY food in my eye because I eat with my mouth) I guess what I am saying is that I fail to understand your logic.
  • Love it...spread on a sandwich, cracker, or apple slices. Have loved every flavor that I have tried. The bleu cheese is pretty strong while I find the chipotle is a milder cheese. Those are my two favorites.
  • I can't decide if you are being serious or sarcastic...?
  • I have a similar problem. In SW Louisiana, it's not only HOT it is HUMID and, unless you are in water, it's too hot to spend much time outside. Our summer is about 9 weeks long, and school starts 10 August. Ready or not lol. Would love to have other teacher friends. Feel free to add me.
  • I am 5'5". I started at 148 and am now down to 134. My initial goal weight was 120, but since I have also started working out as well as eating better, I can tell that my body is leaner and toned and I think 120 might be too small because I am building lean muscle along with losing fat, so I changed my goal weight to 130.…
  • I always gain a few pounds during the summer, then lose when school starts. The problem is that while I may gain 6 pounds over the summer, I only lose maybe 3 at the start of school. I work out, then spend too much time on the couch doing what I can't do over the school year...which is NOTHING lol. This is the first summer…
  • GREAT JOB...congrats! Doesn't it feel wonderful and powerful? I just did week 6 day 1...for some reason it is less running than week 5 day 3. Not quite sure why, but c25k has worked for me so far so I guess I will trust it.
  • All through my 20's I watched my friends get married and start a family, always wondering when it would happen for me. I finished school, started my career and still felt something was missing. Then when I was 28 I met the man who became my husband. Had my son when I was 31. Before it finally happened for me, I HATED when…
  • My name is Rebecca. I am 38, single again, and have one son, age 7. I teach Algebra 1 at the local high school and LOVE my job. Especially now that school is out for summer  I love iCarly, Diet Dr Pepper, and tomatoes. I am new to this site, feel free to send me a friend request, although I have to confess that I am…
  • My absolute fave...the produce section of my grocery store has 100 calorie packs of guacamole that I eat with Special K chips or crisps or whatever they are called. You can eat a ton of them for about 100 calories. In fact, I usually eat half a serving of the chips with 1 pack of guacamole.
  • Born and raised in good old Louisiana. It's all called Coke...even if you're drinking Diet Dr Pepper, which is by far the BEST. When I was little and we used to go to Burger Chef, when you ordered a coke they would ask you what kind...to which you would reply Coke coke (if you wanted Coca Cola) or you would say orange,…
  • If you aren't used to exercising, start off by doing something you can be successful at and that will help you to stick with it. If you start off trying to do too much, you are more likely to fail and not stick to it. Everyone is different and enjoys different things, but find something you might enjoy. I love being…
  • Yay!!! I love C to 5k. That app and MFP are the most used on my Android! I feel better, my legs are stronger, my waist is smaller and my resting heart rate lower. I alternate running with yoga, strength training...whatever I feel like.
  • One here! Born in Lake Charles, grew up in Moss Bluff. Now live in Leesville.
  • I totally agree. I recently started running, using a regular racer back style sport bra, size large. This bra smooshed me into "uniboob" and did not support well. I found a Champion bra, sized according to my regular bra size and it works wonderfully. A perk of this bra is that it has regular bra closure instead of having…
