Was just thinking....... Some of you have mentioned what about an icing ? How about fresh fruit slices on top or even better yet a spoonful of preserves, jam or jelly (sugar free or regular - your preference ) on top of it ??

If you can't quit bread yet, then how about changing the type of bread that you eat and the amount and see how that works for awhile before cutting it out all together? How about trying to switch to 100% whole wheat bread or even better Ezekiel bread ? I found in the past for me anyway that if I cut something out all…

I have mine set as Dan suggested in his post - I have 40% carbs and 30% for protein & fats. I know I am going to go over those numbers some days but it is still better than not watching at all & having my numbers :noway: way higher than that.....
-
What are your settings ? I read in a previous post from Dan "If you want simplified macronutrients, set Protein and Fat both to 30% using the drop down numbers. Carbs should fill in at 40% unless you live in a wormhole and the laws of standard percentages don't apply. This is similar to The Zone Diet in terms of macros "…

I have a Polar HRM that I use to calculate calories & for the C25K week 1 day 1 it says for 25 minutes I burned 122 calories. Use this only as a guide because my HRM is set up for my height, weight, etc.

I would suggest getting one with a chest strap as they are better to calculate an accurate HR. Don't know if this will help you any but...........Here is a link that was posted in another thread with a lot of information on HRM's.…

I take my transmitter off my FT40 and wash off the strap under running water after each use. Then about every 5th use or so, I put the strap in a mesh laundry bag & throw it in the washer. Just remember don't use detergent with bleach or fabric softener  After it is washed, I towel dry it & lay it out flat to air…

A suggestion I have would be to wait until you can afford a good one.....a cheap one or a just wrist one isn't worth it. Also, I would suggest getting one with a chest strap as they are better to calculate an accurate HR. Don't know if this will help you any but...........Here is a link that was posted in another thread…

I am so glad that I found MFP ! And the best part is that it's free ;-) WW isn't free :-/ and honestly I didn't have good success on WW after they switched over to the points programs :ohwell: I originally joined WW back when you counted bread, fruit, protein, fat, veggies, dairy, etc. and had lost 30 something pounds.…

I always buy greek non-fat (0%) plain yogurt. For breakfast, I mix it with fresh fruit & granola  And at night for a snack, I mix 1/2 cup of non-fat (0%) plain greek yogurt with a sprinkle (about 1 tsp or to taste) of sugar free cheesecake jello pudding mix.......... It tastes like a real cheesecake and then you can…

I found an application for iTouch/iPhone/iPod on iTunes and it is called Ease into 5K by bluefin software which is very good but not free, maybe around $2.99 This app has good ratings and lets you use your music playlists from your iPod in it. I believe there is another app similar to the one above by someone else and is…

I have used a food scale for many years........I started using one when I had joined Weight Watchers ages ago. It will definately open your eyes, well it surely did mine to portion control especially when measuring food with measuring cups and spoons or by eyeball and you won't believe how much more food you really may be…

I just found Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted 100% Whole Grain Bread and I like it ! It's made by food for life. I've heard Bob Harper from biggest loser refers to it in his book & also Chris Powell from Extreme Makeover’ Weight Loss Edition’ mentions it in his book too. They also have different flavors like sesame & cinamon raisin.…
