I had an extra dog walk! And ate less sugar

Awesome, you speak French :)
-
Way to go! You are doing great

I loved the gym in the States, but now there are no classes in the afternoons when I can go. So I ride my bike back and forth to work every day, and do FitnessBlender videos at home. I don't miss the gym now. I don't like running. Dog walking I do like :)

I live in the Netherlands too! But I have lived in the States for 26 yrs. I do use a food scale though and measure everything. I don't use cups/spoons, but a plate, bowl or whatever, and reset my scale to zero (scale from Ikea, cheap) and otherwise I scan labels with my phone. If you like, send me a PM, perhaps we are in…

I am impressed by your determination to change your life! I agree that like minded people are really important. Glad you have a plan.

I use Atkins right now, but I just found a European version of GNC, so I will be buying Optimal Nutrition soon.
-
I think it is important to have positive reinforcement

That is so great. I am keeping a copy of that! Success with your progress

I think you should make an appointment with a GI dr.

I am no dr or expert, but I switched to Haybales' TDEE - 20% spreadsheet after not losing and actually gaining on a too low calorie diet (in my opinion) and I changed all at once and have lost .5 KG this week (about 2 pounds). I am F 48 and 5 ft 3. I bike to work each day, so 1 hr bike ride x6 and 1 hr dog walks x7. Some…

I think is it great that you are taking such a committed approach to your health. I want to encourage you to figure out your TDEE and all those things and look for Haybales spreadsheet. If you enter Haybales and TDEE in the seach feature on MFP it will show up. You might like to enter all the data and see the results. I…

Eggs, hummus, protein powder, greek yoghurt, apples, oranges, banana, roasted almonds, spinach, frozen vegs

Are you weighing your food Are you eating enough calories Can you open your dairy if it is not open?
-
Me! We walk an hour every day, rain or shine!
-
I think it is lilkely not enough. I am female, 5 ft 4 and eat 1500 a day, bike to work 1 hr a day and resistance training at home. I used the TDEE less 20% Haybales has a spreadsheet if you want to figure it out more precisely. Just put TDEE and haybales in the search feature on here.

Hi there. Feel free to friend me, we can all use more friends. :) Success.

Look, it takes time and consistency and you are being a little negative here. Get a food scale, and weigh your food. You will be surprised. It is easy to guess portions way to large. I did really well, had a major life style upset in my personal life and gained the weight I lost because I gave up. This does not make matter…

Thanks for your reply. I am looking to be healthier and leaner. Just cardio alone doesn't really help plus it is boring. I was losing body fat with BodyPump, and I wondered if that would happen if I lift with machines. Since I don't know how to lift with free weights.

If there is something wrong, you may have a lifetime of meds, and that only complicates matters. I agree with others, it takes time. (unfortunately). You might getyour BMR calculated though, it could be lower than you think.

We must be related! 4 pounds since July of 2012. I added weight training, dropped cardio to 2x a week and set my goal to lose 1/2 a pounda week, am eating at my TDEE -20%, (IPOARM). I agree with a poster here though who wrote, better to lose a pound a month than gain one a month. I think it is super frustrating, but…

I increased my calories to my TDEE -20%, around 1580, and added lifting weights and no more elipitcal. Spinning x2 for cardio and weights.
-
How many calories are you eating?

Put In place of a roadmap in the search box and complete the spreadsheet that haybales put together and presto! There is your TDEE - 20% for success
