I agree with other posters, if you decide to go veg, I'd love to hear how that works out for you... as far as what you decide your diet should be and how it makes you feel physically/mentally if there are any changes at all. Good luck to you and well wishes on your journey :flowerforyou:

I too weigh every day! It helps me stay on track :D

Honestly, it doesn't bother me. If someone says they've lost weight, then I will cheer right along with them, if they've gained then I will share some hopefully inspiring words to help them become more motivated. If they tell me they weigh 10 pounds less than me, then I congratulate them. I don't know what the scale says…

LOL, yes I did lose 275 pounds, I have more to go, but that's besides the point. Thank you - Superwoman... in my kids eyes I sure am! I love reading posts like yours. It really is a lot about all the little things we change and choose to do differently that pull together our larger goals. This is a helpful strategy for a…

Personally, you should feel good about your body already! Losing weight is not a short term thing and then you're done, you're making life style changes to be healthy for life! Working a little harder to lose the weight is needed, but we still need to focus on health so we don't gain it back. With that said. You've done…

Its these little successes that get us where we want to be! You should be so proud, what a great mini goal to accomplish and utilize in the future as well :flowerforyou:

My understanding is negative attitudes tend to come from jealousy and past history, basically negativeness comes from taking something on a personal level. We see it a lot around here, and in our personal lives; someone feeling left behind or feeling self pitty for not keeping up to their end of the bargain - what ever…

Awesome! Welcome back and well wishes to you on your journey :) Remember that these changes are for life!

Swimming is one of the best exercises you can do period. You don't feel as tired or sweaty beucase you're in the water adn gravity doesn't take such a toll. Remember too that lap swimming or swimming in general you are constantly moving and there's ALWAYS resistence. Count it. You're working hard!

I agree, I have 3 kiddos - one of them autistic who eats from a gluten, wheat and dairy free range of foods. I am a caterer though so making and planning is not a hard thing. What about having your family help you make dinner or maybe do a nice 1 day a week dinner family night thing! You could picnic in the back yard, or…

Hmmm, I've never actually seen food ads posted. If you want to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle, then we need to set limits and boundaries for our bodies and minds. This means having some rules and limits. Just like most other things, if you take the time to learn how to use the tools on this site, then it will…

You're saying bye to the old and hi to the new. Life style changes take time and patience. Feel free to put something in your evening. Maybe exercise after work and then make a small dinner, or go to the store or local library, pick up on a dance class or water aerobics. Something to change your mode of normalcy. You will…

It's easy to stress and become frustrated and worry. Our bodies are constantly working very hard to keep up with our minds. Muscle tissue retains water, while and after working out. Also, it's extremely common for our bodies to retain water for any hundreds of reasons. Though it's difficult to pull out of a mood of dislike…

The back pain you're seeing may be due to your body building muscle to an area of your body that is little weak, not the building muscle piece but you are targeting an area of body with this exercise that is not used to being used. This happened to me as well when I started lap swimming, and previously to me when I started…

It sounds like you're not eating enough. It's so important to eat your allotted calories and then you're exercise ones as well. Honestly though 1 pound in 5 days is nothing to shake your head at!

These changes take time, and patience, diligence, understanding and so on. Some changes we make will be easier than others, all you really need to do is set up…

I lap swim 3 days a week for 90 minutes each time and burn roughly 855 calories each time. You're burning more calories in the water. A) water creates resistnece. B) you're constantly moving. You could do a google search but I'd say you're racking in close to between 400 and 500 in the hour. Here use this site!…

I wish you luck in finding answers to your questions, just keep an open mind, that others may find offense to this, as they may personally have a problem, or someone close to them does. People will react on life expierences. I actaully don't drink/don't smoke. I have kids and just don't find it appropriate to have around…

Well, I'm not a doctor... but what we've done is really stretch our skin out, a pretty good distance... which does take time to rebuild that elasticity and suppleness. What you're still seeing is pockets of fat. You're building muscle, burning fat and toning all at the same time. Unfortunately it does take time to repair…

:flowerforyou: You're never giving up. Life style changes last forever. making adjustments is all part of the process. Well wishes to you on your journey

Well, as long as you're not feeling any pain, I would go your normal routine for a bit longer and see if it gets worse. Our muscle tissues retain water while we're exercising. As long as its going away after, it may be your body trying to adjust. I've torn ligaments in my right ankle years ago. They do repair themselves…
