I lost 60lbs and some of my girls too. And it sucked because I had just bought THREE bras from Victoria's Secret and you know the bigger ones cost extra. Now they're just hanging in my closet. Sadness. My smaller around my chest and my cup size has gone down.

Do you have a HRM? If no, I would log it as probably a combo of yoga & pilates. When I did it I think I only burned 200 calories and that seems high. If you don't have an HRM I used an app on my iphone and then a calorie calculator. It's a lot of steps, but worked.

Absolutely!!!! I know a lot of times calories are overestimated. I don't usually eat back my calories anyway (I'm not trying to lose weight anymore). It's just nice to get a general idea of how much I've burned to see if I've worked hard or could work out harder the next time. I think I might also get a pedometer just for…

@deup I think I've found that with what everyone has posted and some private messages I've gotten. I really need to stop doing threads because they always seem to get out of hand! But it's to be expected with a public forum.

@missADS1981 I weight train only two days a week with a trainer. When I work out at home it's beachbody videos that I'd say are primarily cardio. Insanity, T25, PiYo, and I'm currently doing Insanity MAX:30. I have a heart rate app on my phone which I just put my finger on the camera and it measures it (I'm sure it's not…

@deup I'm leaning towards a polar for now. But I like the idea of the polar loop. Maybe I'll get the HRM now and the loop down the line since they link which I did not know. Great advice. Thanks!

@20yearsyounger Thanks! That's great info.

@meanderingmammal Instead of telling people what doesn't work for the types of activites we're mentioning you could say what does. And I'm pretty sure heart rate monitors that we're describing are exactly what you use for things like Insanity, etc.

I looked at the vivosmart today and REALLY liked it. I have $100 in amazon money, so I'd have to come up with the remaining though.
-
I've been leaning towards a Polar. Does it do anything when you're not working out? Like if I wore it to work without the chest strap would it tell time or steps taken? Or would it really be something I could only get use of of when working out?
-
Do all heart rate monitors require the chest strap?

NOT COUNTING ANYTHING! Just going to enjoy myself & not go overboard. :)

Will do, thanks.

I'm looking for a modification to do during the beachbody workouts.

191. Now down to 135.

Exactly. If you use chalk at the gym why don't you use it at home? Because it's the gym's chalk. I don't own any.

I appreciate this response. I think I'm going to try to ease myself in to outdoor running. I think what I need is to find a trail/route I enjoy in my area. It's going to start getting cold here soon, so I'll do what I can while I can.
-
Thank you. I'm trying to tell myself if you run, then you are a runner. Sometimes I just get too in my head.
-
I'm just very hard on myself. I'm working on it. :)

I push myself by increasing my speed every 'x' amount of minutes. It's my way of getting my mile time down. When I first started running I could barely run a 20 minute mile. Now I can do it in 10. Which to me is an accomplishment.
-
Wow. Nothing?

I'm 7.5 miles shy of 50 miles in October. That was the challenge I set for myself. The plan is 2 miles tonight. 3 miles tomorrow, and 2.5 miles Thursday. Friday is a rest day and I have 10K #3 on Saturday.

It worked for me at the start of my weight loss. I would eat back SOME of my work out calories. Eventually when I got closer to the weight I wanted to be and began working out a lot more seriously I HAD to increase my calories or I'd be starving. Just make sure you're eating good for you foods.

1. Melissa 2. St. Louis, MO 3. The fear of getting fat again I've lost all the weight I wanted to lose, but am so scared I'm some how going to gain it all back.

Anyone can feel free to add me (I prefer a message so I can kno how you found me). I lost 60lbs in I guess 8 months and I've been maintaing since then. :) I do Insanity, T25, and work 2 days a week with a trainer with weights.

Congrats! You look amazing. I lost 60lbs by doing at home work outs (Insanity, T25, and running), and now I'm doing two days s a week at the gym with a trainer (lifting weights, strength training). I hate the gym, but having someone there just for me helps!
