I worked in management in retail for 12 years and this is just the nature of the business. Closing, then opening the next morning is very common. I was able to lose weight successfully while in retail. You can do it. In fact, being on your feet all day, running around the store, is an excellent way to burn calories. Having…

I would not look to Pinterest for workout advice. There is a lot of woo on Pinterest. Unless, of course, you are following a known and respected trainer. I started out with bodybuilding.com. There is a short quiz you can take and it will recommend programs for you. And don't rely on motivation to keep you going. Motivation…

Mayo is the one thing I make room for in my calories and macros. YUM!

I was told I was allergic to penicillin. Broke out in hives when I was in college. Years later, desperate because I couldn't get to the doctor, I took penicillin I found in the medicine cabinet. Guess what? No hives. No reaction. I was cured!

The fiber pills where you had to take a handful of them with a bunch of water. I think I took them once and decided it wasn't worth it. Low fat. I lost weight with that one but couldn't sustain it. In high school I just stopped eating. Didn't eat breakfast or lunch, but ate dinner. The fat just melted off me and I was…

Are you weighing yourself every day? That's a game changer. It will show you your bodies fluctuations. I can easily be up 2 pounds one day then go back down to my normal weight the next day or even 2 days later. But if I were weighing myself once a week I would consider it a weight gain and not even be aware of the…

Unless there is a medical reason, you don't need to go low carb. For most people its not a sustainable lifestyle. Just eat the calories that MyFitnessPal gives you, eat back some of the exercise calories and you should be good. Good luck!

Your body needs rest days, no matter what your mind tells you. No rest days can lead to fatigue and injuries. Seriously, take a day off once a week

Are you on meds for your thyroid? If not, you need to see a doctor. Once you're on meds then your thyroid has nothing to do with losing or gaining weight. And I can say that because I'm on meds for my thyroid (in case people tell me I don't know what I'm talking about :) )

What are the types of food you're eating? You may need to eat higher protein foods to keep you full longer. Personally I eat every two-three hours. I sort of naturally evolved into that eating pattern and it works for me. I make sure that everything I eat has some protein in it. Evamutt is right, you have to play around…

I don't trust my Garmin calorie burn. I feel it gives me way too many calories burned. Same with the calorie burn in MFP. I have learned through much trial and error to subtract at least 25% from those estimates

Protein shake eggs chicken cheese (Babybells are great, low in cal but high in protein) chicken sausage cottage cheese nut butters nuts Greek yogurt I usually finish the night off with a protein bar if I'm still under my protein goal

Baby steps. Don't try to change everything at once. Start with little changes and go from there. Remember the weight didn't come on in a few months and it won't go away in a few months. Consistency is key. Good luck!

I had gestational diabetes with my 3rd pregnancy. She's a healthy, vibrant, active 18 year old now! I had to see a nutritionist who helped me with food choices, etc. I will say, it was a turning point in my life. I consciously ate better and exercised and lost 70 pounds.

I have a co-worker that did the same diet. She lost 60lbs really fast. Everyone in the office praised her determination. She gained a lot of it back and is now on to some sort of elimination diet and using only certain types of makeup and hair products (I'm confused as to how that helps with weight loss but I don't ask).…

I'm not a believer of ACV. But if you are determined to keep using it, please make sure you are diluting it and seeing a dentist regularly. ACV can damage the enamel on your teeth.

Are you weighing yourself every day and tracking your weight? For weeks I kept going back and forth with the same 3 pounds. Up and down, up and down, up and down. Finally the scale went down and I am now going back and forth with a different, lower, 3 pounds. If you're only weighing yourself once a week you're getting an…

I'm in the Cincinnati area but not a Marvel fan :) Welcome to MFP!

I'm the same when I lift. It's too distracting. But for cardio I like Volbeat, old style Kid Rock, Buckcherry, Guns n Roses

YES! I bought a box last weekend based on recommendations here and boy was I disappointed. The chocolate chip cookie dough left me with a sore jaw from chewing and chewing and chewing and CHEWING! I'm stuck with the big box but I will finish it. I just hope I don't need a trip the dentist before they're gone.

I only feel hungry if I blow my calories during the day and have nothing for the evening. But for the most part I eat 6 times a day so I won't feel hungry and I make sure I eat a high protein diet to keep me satiated.

Have you tried weighing your food and logging it and eating under calories? There is no secret to losing weight other than eat less and prepare to watch your food intake for the rest of your life.

I eat all day long too but this is what I eat: 7am - Protein shake after workout (160 calories) 9am - Protein bar or egg sandwich (200 calories) 11am - Cottage cheese (80 calories) 12:30 - Lunch. I food prep so usually lunch is roasted vegetables with quinoa and chicken sausage, a Greek yogurt and a Babybell (500 calories)…

At some point you will hit your bottom and that will be when you stick to it.

24 years out from my first c-section and 18 years out from my second. I still have the pouch. It has never gone away, no matter how thin I get. Some people can get rid of theirs. I think it all comes down to genetics.

Very, very little :D Yuck

Then I can almost guarantee you will be back here within a year starting over again. Get out of the mindset that you want a quick fix and start thinking of this as a lifetime commitment. Forget the fad diets, the shakes, the pills, the wraps, and weigh your food and log your calories and eat at the calorie goal MFP sets…

That's about 7 pounds a week, which is not possible unless you plan to starve yourself. Not to mention it's also very unhealthy and you will not only be losing fat but muscle as well. More than likely you would be depriving yourself of much needed nutrients which can lead to all sorts of health problems, including possibly…

Check out the macro calculators at Macro Inc or IIFYM. They're pretty decent. They say weighing food in grams is better. I personally do both but I'm not a hard core macro counter anymore. I just make sure I hit my protein and let the others fall where they will while eating at my calorie goal.
