You need to find a way of eating that is sustainable for you. Once you find that the weight will start coming off and stay off.

This is why I don't like deadlines for fat loss. Especially when you want to lose so little. You'll have to be extremely vigilant on your diet--weighing your food so you're absolutely certain you're eating at your calorie goal. When you have so little to lose, even a slight slip up can derail you for the week. And you…

Whoo hoo!!!!

I turned 51 this past Monday. Am a self-proclaimed gym rat. I'm on MFP sporadically.
-
I've been trying to lose that last 10 pounds for about 6 months. It's my fault. I'm not 100% on my diet/nutrition.
-
YES! So many people don't understand that concept
-
I'm so sorry for your loss. For me the gym is my reprieve and where I go when life goes downhill. Many times I've been lifting weights with tears going down my cheeks. I also second the counseling option. It helps to talk about it.
-
Isn't that the most frustrating thing? Keep at it. It will come off as long as you are truly eating under your calories.
-
Ahhhhhhh! Bananas are THE BEST! Unfortunately my tummy only allows one a day or I would eat them ALL! Mixed in a protein shake? Pure heaven :D
-
Just remember that whatever you try, it has to be something you are willing and can live with doing forever.
-
I completely agree. Seeing all that data gives you the tools to make better decisions.

Welcome! Stay committed and don't give up!

The gym is my happy place. It's my church. If I go two straight days without it, I start going a little bonkers
-
Welcome and good luck! You can do this. Stay committed and don't let yourself quit after a rough day.
-
Don't rely on motivation. Be committed and determined. Someone once told me that if you rely on a temporary emotion like motivation you will get temporary results.
-
Why do you let yourself quit after a "bad day"? And what's a bad day, anyway? You ate more than usual? So what. It happens to all of us. The ones who are successful don't let it derail them. **a little bit of tough love :D **

Make sure it fits your calories, eat what you crave within your calories, log it and move on. I know some people just can't control themselves around certain foods. If that's the case then you will need to find other foods that help with the craving but you don't binge on.
-
If you fall off the wagon and have a horrible eating day that put you way over calories. Restart the next day. Don't let one bad day make you quit
-
I disagree. Weighing yourself every day will give you data on how your body holds sodium, water fluctuations, what your body does at that time of the month. You will see trends and be able to see why you are up a few pounds and realize that it is not fat, but rather some other fluctuation. Weighing once a week will give…

THIS!!!! I'm a gym rat and I can tell you I don't notice other people. I put my headphones in and I do what needs to be done. IMO, anyone who goes to the gym should be applauded for finding time for and working on themselves. I know a lot of gym rats and none of them would ever judge an overweight person for taking control…

Just finished PHUL at the end of the year and started Strong Curves at the beginning of the year. Love them both.

Up two pounds, down three pounds. All month long :s Exercise is not an issue. I'm consistently lifting heavy 5 days a week.
-
Meh. There are just as many studies showing there are no health issues. Personally you will have to pry my diet soda out of my cold, dead hands. I see no issue with drinking diet drinks. However, if you truly don't want soda at all, a coworker switched to LeCroix water and found that what she was really craving was the…

I've been here for nearly 7 years. It's always been about finding a good balance and leading a healthy lifestyle

Treadmills are notoriously wrong for calories burned. I wouldn't trust what the treadmill says.

You will need to figure out what works for you. Eat what you want to stay within your calories. However, you will find that high density foods will keep you fuller longer. You can eat lots and lots of fruits and veggies for very little calories. Protein will also keep you fuller longer. Play around with it and see what…

Your activity should be based on your daily job. Most of us are sedentary (desk job). Few of us are active (construction worker, mail carrier who walks his/her route). I'm in the gym 5 days a week and walk when the weather permits (darn Ohio weather), but I work a desk job, so I am considered sedentary.

This is my office (not the sewer part :D ). I've said no so many times that they quit asking. Someone once told me something that has stuck and has helped in this situation. If I'm going to eat that type of food, I'm going to do it in a social atmosphere with close friends and family while I'm having fun. I'm not going to…

Nope. It's 4-5 pieces for me or none at all. But I also don't get high calorie toppings on my pizza. I just eat less throughout the day, or will eat less the next day to make it fit. I will ALWAYS make pizza fit :D

A blind squirrel will find a nut sometimes. When you throw out all the fad diets ever created, some will stick. That does not mean you should subscribe to everything he says. He's a whack job.
