Count me in for that sounds awful.

Loner here as well. I run and workout alone.

Thanks guys. Unlike the 15k PR, conditions weren't ideal for the 1/2 marathon, 55 degrees with 95% humidity. Feel like my effort was all I could give on that day in those conditions though. Pegged my heart rate at 183bpm avg (93% of max) and went for it.

Thanks Carson. Conditions were ideal. Cold with no wind and a flat course.

New half marathon PR on Saturday...1:16:17

Not sure how to post a pic, so profile pic will have to do. Dad to the cutest 4 month old around!

Looks like there are of a few of us on here

The SEC doesn't suck in sports that matter. There are other sports outside the main 3 we could care less about.

Probably depends a lot on where you're from. People in the south could give a crap about NHL and NCAA football is a religion. I'm sure its the opposite in other parts of the country.

Increased mileage and long tempo runs (7-10 miles) will work wonders for your time. Also, run the last few miles of your long runs at race pace if you can.
-
I'll bite. Count me in

Yep

Pick something. It's all pretty impressive!

Ha, ^^^^ this.

Ha, about 170...wish I could get down to abt 165 to shave a little time off my half marathon PR.
-
@someone...I'd say 115

I would think the medium with the most user specific input, whether it be the treadmill or HRM watch, would be the most accrurate.
-
What was the incline on the treadmill? Zero? That's a big difference, and honestly it's tough to say which one is accurate because each persons body metabolizes diffrently. Also, did you configure your watch for your age, sex, weight, etc.? That can make a difference.

The Boston Marathon is a great race and I highly recommend running it if you qualify. Amazing crowd support for every mile; just make sure you train with downhill running because the first 15 miles are a net decline in elevation.

My best marathon training tip: take the long runs nice and easy. Make sure it's a comfortable pace. If you want actual speed, tempo runs are the way to go. Rest when you need it, but you'd be surprised how much pain the human body can take. My best race tip: If you're feeling good during the race, don't pick up the pace…
