Lots of great tips above - - I've found those are all good LOL Agree with the "nothing new" and don't go out too fast (which you will, btw - even with the best advise!) Enjoy your run! You've done the hard work already - tomorrow will be the easiest run of them all :) Bask in the finish - - it's the best feeling in the…

I beg to to differ on this. You CAN loose weight and add muscle at the same, but you need to work smart (not harder) at the gym. Cardio isn't the way to do it - - but also don't go too crazy on big weights. I had the best personal trainer who has helped me loose over 50 lbs as well as increasing the amount of weights I can…

Started at a size 28, now a size 10. Lost 100 lbs. If you take a look at my profile, I have one called "Butterfly" - - you'll be able to see the transition

Nice job!!

Even tho it's Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend, and my niece decided that would be a good weekend to get married (Good times had by all!), this week was a SUCCESS  Today's weight - 219.2 (minus 1.8 from last week!)

If you're knees are hurting you are definately doing them wrong. In order to get your form correct, do them with a ball behind your back up against a wall, or do them in a door way (which was the suggested method from my physio therapist when I totally crapped out my knee). Doorway method. Hold the door frame with your…

Hard boiled eggs on 2 peices of toast. I can eat while driving - - and then chase it all down with the coffee. I like the presliced fruit in a bag - - so I'm going to grab that as I little nugget from this thread

As a person who was able to afford a Personal Trainer - I agree!! Unfortunately, they are are expensive but worth their weight in gold if you find one who aligns themselves with your goals (not theirs)

Hi Tony, Thanks for taking the time to do this! There's a ton of information out there on nutrition, and it's nice to know what a person's credentials are when asking for their ideas / advice / opinions. Here's my personal info 46 year old female, 5’8” Presently 220 lbs (*Sigh*) but had been overweight all my life until I…

Apparently, my body missed the memo about this being a weigh "LOSS" challenge  SW 220.0 Todays Weight 221.4

Just reading that list would be enough to put me over the edge . . . .

I struggle with that too. Continue to talk to those who support you - as someone mentioned. If you really feel that it's something that requires medication, ask them for their opinion. Most friends and family aren't going to push you towards medicating. AND trust your instincts. You know yourself best - you know your…

LOL - - at least there were lots of great naturopathic information in the comparisons! I picked up a couple of things that I'm going to do more research on. For now, my daily suplement regime is: Vitamin B100 - emotions / stress Vitamin D (upping it to 1000 per day since it's "winter") Garlic Oil - general health (I…

Skillet!! When I'm working out, their stuff is AMAZING!
-
I also suffer with this. If you're working out 6 days a week, you need to make sure you get your macro nutrients to allow your body to regenerate. I had promised myself that I would never eat "fake food" - - all those suppliments that everyone is trying to push out there, but I have found that if I have a protein drink of…

Agreed - - and who understand Canadian Challenges - - - or maybe that's just Alberta weather challenges LOL Count me in on your motivation train

I just figured "What better way to keep up the positive mindset needed to keep up the heathly lifestyle that to make it my user id - - AWESOME!! Yup, that's me in a single word. .. . . .

Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Close to the mountains but also have all the amenities of urban living. Canadian, eh - - but don't have the extreme cold because of our chinooks. Love my city!

My mom keeps hitting me with "I guess you do look like your dad" and then adds that I no longer have as many curves and I should wear more dresses so they know I"m a girl. :ohwell:

Ouch!

Bad Karaoke night - - not enough breath control to sing well

My first group too - - need some one to hold me accountable again. I'm with bjean0 - - *sigh* SW is 220.

I always used to weigh myself on Wednesdays but I'm finding that allows me to "slack" on the weekend! Thanks for setting this up. Of course, Canadian Thanksgiving falls right in the middle of this challenge - - but that only makes me have to really think about how I'm going to maintain that weekend, rather than allowing…

I think it's different for everyone - - and it also depends on what you eat. I quite often have a yogurt before I go to bed so that I don't wake up in the middle of the night with hunger pangs. If you're truly hungry, eat something. Be sure to track it - - and track what the outcome is (maybe you need carbs rather than…

I went into The Running Room, and asked how I could sweat less or if it was ever going away and they also advised me "Learn to Love it". AND - - I have learned to love it, because it never goes away. Even with the wicking clothes, it rolls down my face, into my eyes, down my legs . . . well, everywhere. And really, it is…
-
I always head rush when I do them - - even when I pause before the jump up. I have no idea why - but my trainer keeps making me do them (in small sets, since he doesn't really "like" it when I pass out LOL)
-
Don't believe that - - every lb makes a difference!!
-
In our gym, we've got "Arms" - - the guy who's head disappears into his neck and all you see are his huge arms. I don't know if he actually has legs - although he must, since he is able to move around the gym. Of course, every gym has their version of "Creepy Blue Pants", the slick, "I'm too sexy", man stuck in the 70's,…

I have glasses which always fog. I went to a hockey store and asked them what they suggest for hockey players to put on their visors. The item I got is called "Cat Crap" - - but it works
