  • What about garden of life raw organic protein powder? No sugar, no yeast, dairy, etc. Mix with water or coconut, almond, flax, etc milk. It's delicious. The best vegan protein powder that I've tried yet. It's gluten free too.
  • I do. I'm pretty much at goal/ very close, but I will always count and log my calories because it gives me that feeling of control over food that I need. There's quite a few people (family is the worst) that always make comments that I shouldn't be on a diet, shouldn't be counting calories, I need to eat a cheeseburger,…
  • I don't eat back my exercise calories either. I log the exercise and manually change the calories burned to 1.
  • Research, and lots of it, was my best friend when I transitioned from vegetarian to vegan. I still research random things quite often. I have no trouble getting variety in my diet or hitting protein goals (I'm usually over). My issue is usually low fat, but that could be easily fixed if I wanted to. Good luck!

  • Sadly, I believed this when I first started working out on a regular basis about five ish years ago. I also believed I needed to "tone" and that "starvation mode" was really a thing. Luckily, I've since sorted out myth from reality on a lot of subjects by reading through many forums and doing my own research. These forums…
  • Vegan here! There's quite a few in the community, including some groups. Welcome to "the club"
  • My son likes to join me when I work out at home sometimes, I'm a Jillian Michaels DVD fan. He will use my 3# weights or nothing, depending on the exercise, and he adds laughs to my workout. I've also gotten a great workout with him and my niece doing the dance game on the Xbox. There are some great playground workouts…

  • I eat between 1200-1400 depending on the day. I don't know what kind of vegan I am... Ethical vegan? Eat-all-the-vegan-foods vegan? I eat what I want but stay within my calories (most of the time). I went vegan for ethical reasons, not health, so my journey gave me ethical benefits. I've lost and gained being a vegan…
  • I'm on my second mirena, first one put in a little more than 6 years ago. I didn't ever notice a change in appetite and I'm down 40# or so in the time I've had it. I've never had any trouble maintaining or losing since I've had it. Any gains I've had were due to personal slip ups, not the mirena.
  • I'm vegan and I hate to cook as well. My diary is pretty simple and I eat a lot of the same things, but I'm content. I tend to eat a lot of frozen vegan burgers and my own mix ups like TVP with beans, veggies, salsa, etc. Somehow I've managed to make my way with my lack of cooking skills lol. My diary is open :)
  • I'm in the same boat; I hate bands. I used to borrow my old roommate's but now that's not an option so I just do the same moves with weights instead. I seem to have an issue getting the bands in the correct position, wrapped correctly, my form correct, everything! That makes me happy that there's no bands in Body Shred.
  • Even better! Thank you.
  • Awesome. That's what I'm doing with Body Revolution now. Good to know I'm not the only one. Thanks! I'm also on workouts 5&6!
  • Question: does she use resistance bands like she does in BR? I'm doing BR now and modify the exercises with bands because my package didn't come with them. Planning on doing Body Shred next (6 weeks til I'm done) but am curious about the bands, as my Amazon order doesn't appear to have them included. Just curious. Thanks!
  • I weigh daily and just recently started to track in the app Libra. I'm ok with fluctuations so it doesn't bother me. I had an issue a while ago with obsessing over the scale so I took it away from myself for a month, then went to once weekly. It did the trick and now I'm fine weighing daily again, as I prefer. ETA: I find…
  • Vegetarian is no meat. Vegan is no meat or animal byproducts; dairy, eggs, leather, silk, etc. Vegan is a lifestyle, as it's not just food intake but the products bought as well.
  • Exactly! It's kind of a bummer sometimes. And if I don't know for sure, I just won't eat it.
  • I was a vegetarian for a while before I decided to become vegan. I started having issues with dairy a bit into my vegetarian quest so I had cut it out prior to switching and I feel like it made my transition relatively seamless. Still some bumps, like learning the "hidden" ingredients and realizing what's not actually…
  • Congratulations! I struggle with this, as I seem to get stuck in the "all or nothing" mindset. I'm working on it, but haven't quite mastered it. Kudos to you!!
  • I looove seitan. I had stopped buying the prepackaged stuff for a while because it didn't seem cost effective (cuz it's not), but then I realized it's considerably cheaper to make your own. I made my first batch last week and I loved it! I get my daily protein from tofu, seitan, or TVP depending on the dish I'm making and…
  • It is! We're pretty active in general, but I'm sure if this dog had his way he'd play fetch til his heart stopped. I have to limit him to 30-60 minute increments mostly because he needs to take rests, but also because my arms need rest too!
  • I have 3 dogs, only one decides he must join. He's a ball obsessed lab so when he sees me doing my workouts, he gets excited and grabs a ball. Since I like to do at home workouts (Jillian Michaels is my go to), I incorporate fetch with the workout when I can; squat-grab ball-stand-throw ball. Repeat. It's a win win because…
  • Ethical vegan here. If I wasn't in this for the ethical reasons, I think it would be difficult to maintain. Just my two cents, but I feel that you'll become just as bored (if not more so) with veganism as you did low carb.
  • I'm a night time eater too, or at least that's when I seem to be more hungry. I eat very light during the day so that the majority of my calories can be saved. This way I'm able to eat dinner and my snacks without going over. It works well for me and has actually worked very well to prevent nighttime binge eating when I'm…
  • Thank you for the advice. I would like to do a strength training program but am unable to at the moment due to not having the space to create my own gym and I have anxiety in public situations which makes a gym environment difficult. I have dumbbells at home but from what I've read, that's not exactly the way to go about…
  • Hmm... just checked it and it's set to auto update so I have no idea. I've had a few issues since premium being offered, mostly changing defaults, but those seem to be working now so I have no idea. Thanks for the help!
  • I have not yet tried to update the app, I'll try that now. All connections are good to go. My phone app was set to public but not my profile on the laptop, so I'd imagine that means it's not syncing properly. I'll try updating.
  • Just realized my food diary does not show up on my laptop, although I log faithfully on the app on my phone. What gives?
  • I'm a relatively new vegetarian (8 months) but I seem to be able to hit my protein goals on a regular basis, sometimes going over. I'm not much of a cook, but I rely on eggs, tofu, tempeh, quinoa, and I'm trying to become familiar with seitan. I don't eat dairy, but dairy is a great way to increase protein as well. I also…
  • I get migraines due to various things, and going too long without food or not eating enough is one of them. Unfortunately by the time it's in full swing I'm usually too nauseous to eat and make up for what I missed so I take some meds and relax. My other triggers are aspartame, msg, too much or too little caffeine, and not…
