  • 50 in december , feel free to add me. Doing ok but this really is something I must do for life.
  • I'm 50 in December. A girl can't have too many friends so anyone can add me
  • I turn 50 in December and joined Mfp almost one year go and have lost 45kg, about 99 pounds :). Still find it amazing and love the health benefits. Anyone can add me. I've met some great people on Mfp ....
  • I'm from Melbourne , feel free to add me :)
  • I'm getting close to maintenance so it is helpful to read others experiences. Thanks. I downloaded a free phone app called happy scales a while ago. It takes the fluctuations out of logged weights and gives you the trend. It's another bit of data that I find helpful but then I am a real numbers type of person :/
  • Great plan. Weigh in and do measurements, body fat too if you can. You have your true starting point then. I didn't do either. I avoided the scales and guessed my starting weight for Mfp. I know I was heavier at one point as I tried weight watchers then and that weigh in was the highest and most depressing ever. Just do it…
  • Happy 30th birthday. You look great!
  • Thanks for posting your story. Your tips are fantastic. Congratulations!
  • I love my fitbit for the data it gives me but following the calories left to eat during the day is too much of a moving target for me. I keep track of my 30 day averge tdee (in your profile) and keep an eye on my weekly and two weekly daily average calories in and out. If I feel good eating at my recent averages I just…
  • Bump, thanks. I have definitely got to try these. Love chobani Greek yoghurt and might try subbing a little trutein Cinnabon protein power for a little flour. Not sure if it would work.
  • Oh wow..........so amazing. Congratulations
  • Hey  I'm 49 and have been logging here for almost a year. I look a lot different now  I'm a tad under 5'9" , prob 5'8.5" but I really should measure my height again soon. Some people find it changes after significant weight loss, probably better posture helps. Anyway feel free to add me, always great to gave…
  • Absolutely wonderful Shannon! Congratulations. Love the photo bombing goat *vbg*
  • Thanks for the info. I'll definitely be ordering that
  • I run. It really clears my head and gives me time for myself. I stress about my kids, especially my 17yo aspergers lad. If I didn't run I would be fighting the urge to be a helicopter parent and that just passes the stress on.
  • Melbourne gal, would be great to add more Aussie friends :)
  • Bump, gotta try these thanks
  • You can never have too many friends :). I'm 49 and coming up to 1 year of logging on Mfp. I love to run (never thought I'd say that). Add me if you have room for another friend :)
  • http://www.haloheadphones.com These are great for running and lying around. I can fall asleep listening to music and its no problem. I got the sports headband cause I sweat a lot. I normally run with one ear slightly uncovered so I can hear road noise.
  • Well done you! I also credit c25k with my evolution as a runner :)
  • THAT is great news :). I have all my runs and fitness walks imported to runkeeper from my phone app ismoothrun. I'll try to be patient but it will be tough....lol
  • I'm doing jillian michaels 30 day shred DVD program. I haven't lost weight but the measurements are really moving. It is on youtube so you might try it out. Search the forums for other people's results - it's very popular which I never really understood until I tried it.
  • Level 2 day 3 just finished. I'm ok with the cardio and abs but my upper body strength is really lacking. The push-ups in level 1 and planks in level 2 are really hitting that. I'm improving each day which keeps me pressing the play button. I've been running a lot before starting the shred. I expected running to have…

  • I'm on Level 2 Day 2 next. I was running 5km each day before the shred but I was finding it tough going after a week or so. I dont want to stop running so I may take a break here and there to focus on a long run. I havent lost any weight but my body is changing so I am happy. Level 2 is a challenge but that is what it is…
  • Day 8 done and dusted. I'm improving each time thank goodness. Still doing wimpy push-ups but meh.....I'm doing them. My weight has stayed the same. I checked past forum posts and it looks like a lot of people don't lose weight but inches. I'd really like both :) .....but will settle for inches....please!
  • Level 1 Day 6 and a 5 km run done after work. It was hard work today. I might need a day off over the weekend but I'll take it one day at a time for now and see how I feel

  • Pizza always makes my scales climb the day after eating it. The high sodium is the culprit. Give it a few days and drink lots of water and you'll be back in onederland in no time. Also, try not to let the scales rule your life and emotions too much. I know its hard, just keep on sticking to your plan and trust the process.
  • The smallest I have is 3kg. They are too heavy to complete the overhead squats and side lunges. Each day I am progressing further though. I changed to 4 kg for the chest fly on day 4. I am going to pick up some 2kg DBS in the next couple of days. I peeked at more jillian DVDs on youtube and think I will get the use out of…
  • Day 5 for me today. I start with a 5km run outside then do the DVD. Pushps are hard but I am aiming to make progress however small, every day. I started by doing the full push-up on an incline against the kitchen bench.
