I use them for should flys, shoulder shrugs, incline, decline and regular bench press. Trying to use a bar for bench press feels really uncomfortable for me. It's like I can feel my elbows tearings. I just lift the bad boys into postion like if they were a barbell, and lift. The seperate dumbells means your arms can move…

Not only should you eat them back, you should eat them back double.

DIZAMM!

You must have been pretty strong before, except it was underneath the fat. Hella amazing progress.

I just bought a pretty decent used hybrid bike...all the rivers in Los Angeles county are paved over in concrete, and they have jogging/ horseback/ cycling paths on the edges...I've only been on my bike once since I bought it 3 days ago, but I know I'm going to enjoy riding a bike much, much more than sitting on an…

Good luck...40lbs in 12 weeks seems pretty aggressive.

Bodybuilding.com is a site that sells a bunch of supplements, but they also have a bunch of videos suggesting what exercises to do depending on the muscle you are interested in. i used to try to do everything in one day, but that quickly becomes too much. I do chest/triceps one day, back/biceps/ shoulders another day,…

Congratulations! Keep the momentum going.

For me, it seems like the total daily intake is what's important, not so much how many meals it breaks down into. i eat breakfast and diner and I pack a lunch for work...I usually munch on the stuff in my lunch box throughout the day until it's done, and that's it until dinner. Before bed I might have some fruit or almonds…

No, you don't have to eat them again, unless you want to stay at your current weight. You are on the path to weight loss.

I started trying to get in better shape around October of last year. ...I'm 5'11 and i was probably around 250-255-260 at my heaviest...honestly I was too embarrased to get on the scale to tell you how much I weighed. I LOVE beer...I used to feel electrified on Friday evening knowing I would stop at the grocery store on…

My Jaw line is coming out...It's like when we had a drought, and the lakes dried up and you could see houses that were there a hundred years ago.

I think you're going to have to tune up your diet a little to see some more weight loss. I also think the pizza here and there and the root beer here and there without planning are killing any progress you might make. I used to allow myself a "cheat day" where I pigged out every week, but I had to scale that back to a…

You don't need a slap..you just need to be patient. You're on the right path, stay focused on your goals, eventually you will reach your goals. I would guess that about 60-70% of us or more are not happy when we look at ourselves in the mirror...so you are defintely not alone. You're taking the right steps, just stick to…

Sorry to hear about your loss. Stay focused on your weight loss goals, but one week won't affect good habits over the course of several months/ years.

I like to drink sparkling water like Perrier and Pellegrino, but that stuff is expensive. They sell a Mexican sparkling water called "topo chico" at my local walmart...$0.73 a bottle including CRV....Poured over ice with a little twist of lime...AHHHHH sooooo nice.

I've cut out sodas, beer, white bread, fast food and cookies, candies, chips, cake. I use to allow myself a cheat day where I pigged out..but as I've gotten slimmer I've had to reduce that to a cheat meal per week...or if there is a special occaision like a wedding or birthday, I save my cheat meal for that day. I also…

Welcome. Just plain walking seems to have the biggest impact on weight loss. The elyptical machine at the gym is good too, but that can get really boring. I just bought a bike, and I intend to wear it out on all the bike paths around Los Angeles.
-
Congrats on your choices. I fumbled around in the gym for months before I settled in on a plan. Walking...just plain walking has worked the best for me to lose weight...About 5-7 hours a week = 1-2 lbs lost per week at this stage of the game for me. I just bought a bike because cardio at the gym, and even walking, can get…

I usually just grab some almonds and a bottle of water...its enough to cure late night hunger pangs...not exactly a 5 course meal, but it does the trick.

I've noticed my jaw line coming back too...my entire butt fits in the seat of my Mazda Miata again, too.

Congratulations! your dedication and hard work have paid off.

You can do it. I am 40, 5' 11"...used to weigh 250, I now weigh 231..and dropping. I used to love to drink beer, but now I enjoy the feeling of baggy clothes more. Once you see a few lbs come off, it will motivate you to keep going. You have to decide what's more important for you.

I exercise in the morning, and one day I had lots of energy so I went crazy and excercised back, biceps, triceps, quads, hamstrings and glutes, and then did 30 minutes of cardio, I was ridiculously hungry the whole day, I ate my lunch by 10am, and at lunch my stomach was growling really loud, so I went to a mexican food…

I've been stuck at a plateau for 3 weeks...I'm exercising pretty hard, and trying to eat smart, but I haven't actually been tracking my food intake...I knew this site existed, and I put in all my food intake for the day, and it's quite an eye opener...I'm actually like 1000 calories over today...it's a miracle I've lost…

I think of the progress I've made in my weight loss, and consider if the temporary pleasure of the craving is worth sacrificing my long term weight loss goals. I also started eating almond and raisins mix as a snack...i've convinced myself it's just as delicious as a snickers bar.
