I've cut back on fat. I've cut back on sugar. I've cut back on carbs. They'll have to pry the caffeinated drinks out of my cold, dead hands.

Where are you in Maine? I was born way up north, and have family there.

My description wasn't very good. It's not an ab roller, it's the one that supports your neck as you do crunches. I can feel it working - I'm just curious how I can find out how few calories it's burning.

There is already a federal law on the books making it prohibited to use genetic information on employees to make insurance or hiring decisions. It passed a couple of years ago.

I think that when it comes to hiring, only your qualifications should matter. If it is the kind of job where your weight/physical fitness matters, then so it be, like the examples somebody else already gave on here (federal agent, cops, etc.). If part of the job requirement is to be able to run a 6 minute mile, then…

Legally a 3-6 month "probationary period" is also a myth. Many companies are moving away from it and there's no legal requirement to have one formally spelled out. Choosing against someone because of weight is discrimination, but it's not spelled out by law and illegal discrimination. I know it seems unfair, but you don't…

But beyond "legal", I feel that employers should be treating employees, recruits, shareholders and customers with respect and dignity and they'll end up being successful in the long run.
-
Most states are "at will" which just means that an employer can end the employment relationship at any time, just as an employee can do the same.

I'll do it.

Ten pounds by Christmas is too fast for me. I have the best success at a pound a week. Good luck to all you who are trying!

The best way to reduce the belly is to burn calories. I did it (after pregnancy) by nursing, nursing, and nursing. It will take time. You can do it. Eat less, burn more. Do your cardio when you can.

Welcome and congratulations on your commitment. Best wishes.

Will be working out later today - it will be at least 60 minutes

I didn't do as bad as I expected - but I did log and track to the best of my estimating ability. Even the wine. And cheesecake (a sliver). I guess portion control is what kept me in check. I ate a little bit of a lot of things I like.
-
I "guestimated" some of my serving sizes. I went over, but by less than I thought I would. The leftovers for the next couple of days may still be enjoyed, but I will be back on track soon.
-
I enjoyed eating today and didn't go TOO much overboard. Will be back on track tomorrow. Hope everyone had a good day!

My husband needs a high protein breakfast, and he's out the door. I buy him frozen, cooked, grilled chicken breasts and whole wheat buns. He puts a piece of chicken on a bun and puts it into a plastic bag, and in the fridge in the evening. On his way out he grabs the sandwich and pops it into the microwave until it's hot,…

Welcome!

Did it. Thanks for the reminder.

Welcome. I use the food diary and exercise tracker. They help keep me motivated - even when I go over on my calories every once in a while.

Congrats and Wooohoooo!

Congratulations on your success. Your hard work has paid off big time. Wishing you continued success, good health, and happiness.

Ok, so I was curious. I did 100. Might have done more, but those were the first in 5 years. Will work on increasing.

The first night of taking taewkondo (years ago) I didn't know we'd be expected to do jumping jacks. Being a woman of a certain age, and not having done jumping jacks in many years, I didn't expect there'd be "leakage". So be warned, ladies, that it's possible on those landings with your legs apart you may lose a few drops.…

I mean it takes some WORK! (sorry)

I was a vegetarian for 18 years and my daughter is one now. She's in college and she cooks big batches of curry or other meals that are loaded with veggies, potatoes and other filling items with lots of nutrients, and packs lunch and/or dinner every day (things that can be reheated or eaten cold). She supplements with…

My guess is that he's measuring differently than you did.

We get our bread at a local bakery that uses all natural ingredients and no sugar. It's worth the extra cost.

I hate lunges. Not fond of squats, either. I like walking and working on the treadmill. I like doing weights. I don't even mind doing abs.
