When I started my weight loss I had already made a mental and emotional commitment that any changes I'd be making were for the rest of my life and didn't have the "I'm done" mentality. For me, maintenance became a slight adjustment and not a major change. Maybe that's why I'm at a year and a half still at goal. It gets…

I don't measure or weigh everything, but I'm pretty good at estimating and limiting my portion size. I log it all. So far it's gotten me to goal and kept me here for 15 months.

If my new two-piece suit can be worn by this 55 year old, a 37 year old can sport a bikini!
-
I am too obsessive to weigh myself every day. A couple times a week is enough.

My boobs have deflated significantly. They are easier to "check" each month for lumps. :)

Yoga pants and tight fitting workout clothes. Also, at age 55 I bought my first two piece bathing suit that shows my midriff. Granted it's a high waist, but I've NEVER been able to wear a two piece that didn't totally cover my midsection. Can't believe I can wear this one.

Sounds a lot like how I approached it. I knew I wanted to comfortably be under BMI 25 so that if I gained a few I'd still be under. I first thought that 150 would be good. Then 145. Now I want to be sure I'm "around" 140 within a couple pounds over or under. That's where I settled. Don't be afraid to listen to your inner…

I had been overweight for 40 years. I have now been a normal weight for a years and I finally feel healthy.

I posted a while back saying I've gotten into a few size 10s, but still did not think of myself as a 10 (still a 12, I was thinking). This week I found myself needing a nice suit to wear to work and NONE of them fit me except for one 12 (which was a mistake when bought - the jacket was a 14 and the pants a 12 by mistake)…

Calories in< Calories burned. And 10,000 steps a day.

I am a fan of Trader Joe's "Inner Peas". Solved the salty/crunchy cravings with something green.

Started September 2014. Hit goal April 2015. 40 pounds (give or take a few ounces). Still at goal.

I have noticed this too...mostly when I do yoga or other exercises when I have to balance on my tailbone (i.e. some ab work). I have to put a small towel under by tailbone. When I sit on hard chairs I notice it, too. Never had this issue before!

This is a great tool. And lots of information that may be helpful. Stick with it and you will see success. You can DO this!

The best exercise is the kind you will actually DO consistently!

Glad you posted, Momo! You are welcome here. You can do this! We're the same height. I had to adjust my expectations along the way and I was shooting (at first) for around 150. You'll know when you get there...and you will, my friend!

Goal was 142-145. Maintaining at 138-140. I want to be sure I have some cushion. I am 5'6" and age 55.
-
I have been maintaining for 11 months and still track every day. If I didn't I likely would have gained some back. It's for the rest of my life.
-
You can do this. Mentally I just had to accept this is for the rest of my life.

About 400 to 450 minutes a week. Mix of cardio and weights. Averaging over 11,000 steps a day.
-
I highly recommend Trader Joe's Inner Peas to satisfy the salty/crunchy cravings.

Actually - since maintaining goal weight all my numbers are in range and my doctor is happy. I am on medication but no insulin and I am considered in a "controlled" state. I learned that once you are diagnosed, it never goes away, but doing the right things can delay a lot of the damage that can result. So this is for the…

I had to mentally accept that there would be no "end" to the effort. It's for the rest of my life. Once that was firmly in my brain it seemed easier.

When my doctor diagnosed me as a diabetic.

A few people have said this to me. I don't let it get to me. I know I am at a healthy weight. Been on Maintenance for 8 months.
-
For the first time in my adult life, yes. Between 22-23. Happy about it.

When I started...178 size 16 or large. Now 139 5'6" size 12 is big but not sure 10 wouldn't be too tight. Shirts medium. Solid and muscular.

My mental struggle is the fight between "I want it" and "I don't need it".

Do to cardio workouts for every session with weights. I am 54. I work out 6 days a week and strive for 10k steps every day. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week and do my weight machines, elliptical, swimming laps or stationary bike. When I work out at home it's calisthenics and/or lots of walking. I don't run, but I walk a…

I, too, work in HR and one of my coworkers has been quite vocal about my being too skinny.
