  • Make sure you have your 10 Essentials (+4). http://www.backpacking.net/ten-essl.html
  • One of the old weight watchers plans would allow you to bank points, each week the get reset. The more time you spend in deficit the more weight you will lose. That said, staying at too much of a deficit for too long will force the body to start storing fat and thus slow down weight loss and actually result in faster gain…
  • I have tried Fitbit Flex, Fitbit One, and Fitbit Ultra (Cant buy new anymore). Honestly Fitbit One and Fitbit Ultra are the best of those for a couple of reasons... 1. Fitbit Flex (not sure about other wrist bands) does not count floors climbed... 2. Fitbit Flex (and other wristbands) don't seem as accurate as they count…
  • This looks really good! I am confused though (perhaps I am just dense or missing something). How do you get Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast 3.5 oz for only 81 cal? I could see trimming the fat will reduce the calories but how do you know how much it is reduced by?
  • Someday they will prove that Microwaving is bad... then they will turn around and say it is good... and on and on... IMHO the worst part about the microwave is that you can put plastic in it... Plastic and other synthetic materials are not made of anything you want to put in your body. Use a glass/ceramic plate or bowl.…
  • Video. For me I recently saw a video of me with someone that I thought was close to how I looked. When I saw the video of us near each other I could really see the difference. A video of me alone is better than a photo but not nearly as good as when I have a base to compare it to in the same video. A photo is no good, just…
  • Cheese and Peanut Butter (but not normally together)
  • This is the best game of all time (well one of them). I own this game but it doesn't work very well :(

  • I started from Couch-2-5k which was OK. I switched to Zombies Run! and found it worked really well for me and was a ton of fun. In addition they now have a 5K training program built into the App. I don't know how good it is since I have not tried it but if it is anything like the rest of the app, I am sure it is fun.
  • if you have a supported smart phone I would recommend Polar H7 strap and use your phone for everything else (I use polar beat on an iPhone 5)
  • ^^^ This ^^^
  • I have been using it with my iPhone5 for a couple of months now and it works great. Many apps are supporting it. I have tried several but I like the Polar Beat app the best because it feeds into my pre-existing Polar account data.
  • Do you have an iPhone? if so I would highly recommend Polar H7 or the upcoming H6 (http://www.thegearcaster.com/the_gearcaster/2013/01/polar-h6-bluetooth-smart-heart-rate-sensor.html) The biggest decisions: 1. Watch or phone 2. Depth of information (just HR, or do you need to know what Zone you are in) 3. Are you ok with a…
  • Netflix and Amazon FTW. Yes there is a monthly fee Netflix but they have a great selection. If you are already prime with Amazon then you get a large library there as well at no additional cost (above Prime)
  • The Story line already exists :) Someone could easily partner with Zombies, Run! and adapt the story to the camp.
  • I have been using a FT60 for almost a year now, and in general I like it. I have learned a lot using it. That said, the features that set this watch apart from cheaper ones and the features you get with more expensive ones is frustrating! I have recently upgraded my phone from an iPhone 4 (non-S) to an iPhone 5. iPhone 4s…
  • As others said, get ready the night before. I used to drive to the gym and be there when they opened the door at 5, run for 10 min, workout, then run for 30-45 min. The problem is that I have calls starting at 7am many days so this does not leave much margin. During the nice weather of summer I started running to the gym…
  • I got on and I love it. I upgraded from an iphone 4 (not S, I would not upgrade from a 4S and I would not upgrade without a discount). The 5, is faster and has a better camera. That is enough for me. Honestly there are reasons I didn't want to upgrade but the iPhone is a GREAT experience and has everything I want. Every…
  • I agree. Slow down! If you have a heart rate monitor or you can use your phone as a heart rate monitor then do it, Try to keep your heart rate below 80% of max, you can find a simple calculator here: http://education.polarusa.com/trainingzone/heartratecal.asp I didn't complete the program because I found I was pushing too…
  • You should drink at least 8 cups of water. if you are having a hard time, go to Walmart or some other super store. They sell cheap water jugs that are 2.2L/74.4oz. Fill it in the morning and drink it by the end of the day. There is no end to the research on the positive impact of water (not just for weight loss). "How much…
  • Same here. When my alarm goes off at 4:25 I wake up and take 5 min to get moving.
  • ... You park on the bottom floor of the garage so you have more flights to walk up. ... You make excuses to go to your car so you can walk up the stairs again. ... You are upset when your muscles don't hurt the next day because you didn't push yourself hard enough.
