In your opinion, which is the best? What are it's benefits? Why do you love it? What are it's downfalls? What could possibly make someone think twice about it?

Thank you!

I use the one from RunDouble which does a nice job. It uses the GPS in the phone to track your route and gives you your pace at the end of each segment. The only downsides to it is a gives you a bogus calorie reading since it doesn't work with a heart rate monitor and it isn't available for IPhones, just Android phones.

I started from Couch-2-5k which was OK.

I switched to Zombies Run! and found it worked really well for me and was a ton of fun. In addition they now have a 5K training program built into the App. I don't know how good it is since I have not tried it but if it is anything like the rest of the app, I am sure it is fun.

I think it is Ullrey.. Or close to it. It is music with him telling you when to speed up, slow down etc. I liked it because I didn't have to think or keep track. Just had to listen.

The "official" C25K app looks good. I haven't been able to complete the first day yet, but I've played with it. It is free. It allows me to use my own music. There is a beep and a voice says, "Start walking" and a beep and the voice says, "Start running". At the same time, the timer changes color (Walking is green; running is red). There is a clock that counts down and one that counts up.

I just finished my first day, and I found out that not only can I use a play list, but I can have a different audio source. (Audio book).

I didn't use an app for C25K, just the treadmill version where I kept a cheat sheet of times to switch my pace. I didn't have a smartphone then.

Even though I've been running over 2 years, I'm loving the Zombies Run 5K training plan (and the regular Zombies Run app). I like that there's a story going on, and it keeps me from getting bored. It eases you into running a little more gently, starting you with 15 seconds of running vs one minute, and has also has free form runs in each "mission" where you walk and run as much as you're able.

I bought the one from active.com. It works great. I haven't had a single issue with it yet.
