  • I really like the Nike+Kinect. I could barely do a single push-up when I started. Now, I can do multiples (still hard but getting easier) and can plank a good while, etc. If you have access to an Xbox/Kinect, I highly recommend it.
  • I'm using the Nike+Kinect, and I really like the results so far. It covers a lot of what Nerd Fitness suggests. I started with barely being able to do a single push-up (I've never had upper body strength), and I can now do multiples (still hard but getting easier). I can also plank a good long while now. Anyway, I…
  • I would love more SAHM mom friends too. I'm 42 with two boys, ages 5 and 20 months. MFP really helped me meet my weight loss goal, and I'm now focused on continuing with fitness. I'm always happy to provide support to others - feel free to add me.
  • I do have a follow up question for Lyadeia. Why do you recommend stopping cardio altogether? Currently I'm alternating strength days and cardio days. I really enjoy cardio, and my understanding is it's a healthy type of exercise to do and works muscles in different ways. Why not do it off days?
  • I really appreciate everyone's responses, and I will definitely be looking into the tips offered. Just wanted to clarify a couple of things: 1) I'm in maintenance and am not trying to lose additional weight. I'm just trying to continue to tone and to work on strength. 2) I don't have BDD. I probably shouldn't have used the…
  • We really like these, but they need...something. I've been trying to figure out if there's a spice I could add or something to give them just a bit more zing. Has anyone experimented?
  • Amazing job, Luis! Look at that definition!
  • I highly recommend trying Katie's Chocolate Frosting Shots (http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2012/01/16/chocolate-frosting-shots/). I think they are absolutely decadent. I'll serve them as shots, but I also love to dip banana slices in them. I'm not a big banana person, but topped with this frosting, bananas suddenly…
  • I'm 42, and with the help of MFP, lighter and healthier eating, and exercise, I reached my weight loss goal. I'm continuing to log and focus on fitness. I'm happy to provide support to others, so you're welcome to add me.
  • I'm 42 and was able to achieve my weight loss goals with the help of MFP. I'm still faithfully logging while in maintenance and focusing on continuing to work on fitness. You're welcome to add me.
  • I started it a couple weeks ago, but since I already do cardio, I'm using it primarily for strength (took me a bit to figure out how to do that through the Quick Start program). I'm using it 2-3 times per week and would welcome friends who are also using it, especially for strength training.
  • Khallock, I do recommend trying some of her videos on youtube or on the walkathome web site, so that you can make sure they're not going to cause you knee problems. She does have some moves, like her side steps, knee lifts, etc. that I could see potentially giving you trouble, especially if you do them with intensity.…
  • One of my favorites is dipping banana slices in Chocolate Covered Katie's Chocolate Frosting Shots (found at http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2012/01/16/chocolate-frosting-shots/). I'm not a big banana fan, but it is a perfect taste combination.
  • I don't have a big issue with this anymore, but it was tough when I was starting out. My little trick - brush my teeth. For me, it works like a signal to my brain/body that it's time to go to sleep soon (even though it isn't), and the thought of eating right after brushing my teeth always grosses me out anyway. So I'd…
  • I'm 42 and met my weightloss goal in December. I'd be happy to offer support to other 40 somethings. :)
  • Age: 42 Gender: Female Married? Yes Kids? 2 - ages 5 and 19 months Goal weight: 120 Current weight: 116 (lost a bit more than I'd planned after I entered maintenance) Height: 5'5" Favorite exercise: Jogging/running Least favorite exercise: Pushups Pets? 3 cats (outdoors) Calorie goal: 1630 Special dietary needs: None How…
  • I think I was around 176 in the top shot; I weighed about that amount for years prior to starting MFP in June 2012. I'm now at 116, having met my goal back in December. Still using MFP as I continue to maintain and focus on fitness.
  • Yep, lost 'em, which I really don't mind, but after nursing two children, they are definitely deflated. Ah well, at least everything looks decent with clothes on.
  • I've had it since I was a child. Feel free to add me.
  • I've had creaky knees since my late twenties. I blame it partially on tennis that I played pretty avidly when I was younger and on climbing up and down hundreds of spiral stairs at once at this extremely tall church in Germany that I visited. Walking up, I thought I was fine; coming back down, I soon was in agony, but what…
  • I've got a 5 year old and a 19 month old. The 5 year old is able to entertain himself while I'm working out. I put the baby in his pack & play with toys and a snack. It's just part of his daily routine at this point, and he likes to watch me workout . Lately, I've caught him trying to do some of the moves, so cute! I hate…
  • I'm still nursing a 19 month old too! He still drinks 3-4x a day and 2-3x at night (we co-sleep). However, he's not getting a whole lot per session anymore, and like duckiec, it's really more for his comfort/satisfaction at this point because he also drinks plenty of regular milk. I started on MFP and with exercise when he…
  • I'm maintaining and continuing to work on fitness. Would love to have more friends also in maintenance mode.
  • You accomplished that in 90 days?! I am speechless!
  • I'm 42 and reached my weight loss goal in December. I'm still adjusting to maintenance and working on fitness. I'd love to have some more 40-something friends and am happy to offer support/encouragement.
  • Hi, there! I'm 42, married almost 10 years, with two lovely young sons (5 and 19 months). I didn't follow the Mediterranean diet, but we definitely focused (and still focus) on eating plenty of veggies and fruit, whole grains, and minimal meat. I've used Walk at Home with great success - if you stick with it and work up…
  • I agree - I think it's a little tough to transition to maintenance. It's almost like I can't believe I'm actually done with the weight loss, and I feel like I still have to be super careful. It's starting to sink in though, and I think I'm stabilizing. I've always weighed myself once a week and will continue that. I think…
  • Thanks, everyone! And to those giving the Leslie Sansone workouts a try, I'm so glad. I really think her workouts bring results, and can be done by anyone at any age. I have never injured myself doing them, and I can't say the same for other workouts I've tried. You can keep challenging yourself with them too - just boost…
  • Hi, Jessica! I'm in maintenance as well and still log. I'm trying to eat as close to my goal as possible. My diary is open to friends, so you're welcome to add me.
  • I've had a hypothyroid since I was a child and have been on synthroid all my life. I definitely eat protein, but it's more of a result of the foods that I like to eat rather than a focus on it. I met my weight loss goal by a combination of diet and exercise. Based on my experience, exercise is incredibly important in order…
