Has anyone with hypo tried going low carb?
I've been in maintenance for a good while now (since Dec. 2012), but since my doctor reduced my thyroid medication in August, my body has wanted to put a little of the weight back on. I haven't had much success getting rid of these extra lbs even though I've reduced my calories by a decent amount (gradually have gone from…

Are you in maintenance? I have a couple of questions...
I was maintaining successfully for several months, but then my dr. adjusted my prescription down (from .125 to .100). Ever since, without any other change to my diet and exercise habits, I've been struggling. The weight started to go up, and I've tried to counteract it, first by simply reducing my calories, and when that…

Chin-ups Progression - any tips?
I've been doing Scooby's training program for pull-ups since the end of May, and I felt that while my progress was slow, it was decent for someone that had never been able to do a chin-up before. However, I've been stuck in phase 4 for a good while now, and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to move along.…

Lifting Frustrations
There are a couple of things bugging me lately that I hope some of you might have some input on. First, I've been stuck for a while on most of my lifts. I'm relatively patient, but it seems like I must be doing something wrong to remain stuck for so long. I've been doing stronglifts for probably about 15 weeks now (prior…

Increase Reps for Better Gains?
I recently read this artilcle: http://jasonferruggia.com/how-to-get-a-body-like-jessica-biel/, and one thing he said that's stuck with me was that women get better results from doing a higher rep set than males. He specifically recommends doing 8-15 reps but still within the context of lifting heavy. I've been doing…

Reducing Medication - I'm nervous
For the first time in I don't know how many years, my doctor is changing my prescribed dosage (from .125 to .100 Levothyroxin). If it has to change, I'm glad it's a reduction, but at the same time, I'm nervous regarding how this might affect my metabolism. I completed my weight loss back in December and have been at a…

Using Dumbells Exclusively?
Has anyone read this book: Ultimate Dumbbell Exercise (http://www.amazon.com/Mens-Health-Ultimate-Dumbbell-Guide/dp/159486487X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367715845&sr=8-1&keywords=ultimate+dumbbell+guide)? My husband recently bought it on Kindle. We've been talking a lot about what we want to do going forward to progress with…

Is NRol4 W significantly different from NRol?
I ask because my husband just got New Rules on his Kindle, and I've started reading it as well. I had NRol4 W on my wish list, and am wondering if it's still worth buying, or have I got most/all the information I need in the original version?

MFP Macros - Help with the Math
Math has never been my strong suit, so I'm looking for some input as to what I'm missing here. My MFP macros are set to 55% carbs, 25% protein, and 20% fat. MFP is calculating that to be 269g carbs, 122g protein, and 44g fat. The problem is that when I manually calculate the percentages based on those numbers, I'm getting…

Concerned about my waist size
I completed my weight loss goal back in December and currently weigh ~115-116 lbs (I'm 5'5" and 42 years old). I managed the weight loss by a combination of eating healthy, reducing calories, and exercise, so I believe that I did it the proper way. My measurements all dropped a good bit, but my waist is still out of…

Was that really me?
Body image is such a strange thing...I've never seen myself as slender, but I also didn't see myself as fat when I got there. I was always just "overweight" in my own head. That's probably why I wasn't terribly motivated to lose for such a long time (was heavy throughout my thirties). After my second child was born and I…

I've lost the weight, but...
I'm still figuring out maintenance and continuing to tone. I wasn't looking for friends during the weight loss journey, because my husband and I did it together. Once he reached his goal, he stopped using MFP, but I still find it very useful. I still log my food and exercise, and I love reading the success stories,…
